Default Flash player!?! Where is it??

I have a bunch of .swf's on my brand new computer and i've installed flash player multiple times. It just has a little bar that pops up for one second and dissapears. i went to the adobe site and it says i have it installed. I went into add or remove programs on windows and it's there! But when i try to open .swf's it says i don't have the program so i hit browse but i can't find flash player on my computer!!! Where does it go?? I had it on my other computer and i don't remember how i did it!
Does someone know where the default install destination is?

Edit: I think it's just flash player within my internet browser but on my old computer, i had flash player which would just pop up in it's own little window and that's what i want again. Anyone know what i'm talking about?

Flash comes with a piece of software called SA Flash Player (Stand Alone Flash Player) You need to have Flash to run SWF files in the SA Flash player. The normal flash player that you download form adobe's website is only a web plugin.

not really. Flash movies are set to play different sizes. If you view it in the browser, it shows all the stuff outside the actual stage, obviously not what the author intended. SA flash player plays the movie at the size it was intended.

I don't think thats correct what Ice said was correct, although if you have the swf on your desktop thats possible but not on the browser, developers make those precautions and any developer who has that problem needs to go back to the basics about flash.

I take it you've never made a flash movie. Well, that explains it.

And the only way you can counteract it is by making a box around your movie.

What the hell are you talking about, it sounds like your still at the basics of flash if you don't know how to solve that problem, you fix that problem with html not flash and as for "making a box around the movie" what the hell does that actually mean.
