Hey everyone!
I thought this thing was lost forever! LOL! HERE IS ANOTHER WAY! (almost works 100% of the time!) type the url: http://www.whatever.com then type this after it! redirect.keljob.com this will bypass the filters. and if your school sucks like mine does and block out google image search, just goto language tools and choose a diffrent language. enjoy! |

no. how do you know it works 100% of the time? even almost? 8e6 blocks all proxies. the only way to get by 8e6 without serious loss of browsing features is the was I listed above.

Websense is a filter system that some public schools use, it is the best one. My school has no filter.

I can't believe some of you have the freedom at school that you have. I mean net send?! Firefox off a pen drive?! In my school all terminals boot from a network server, loading the OS from the network with universal settings. Then you log into the domain, can't right click, everything that you could think of is disabled. No executables apart from registered allowed ones are able to run.
Yet, an RPG game I wanted to go on at lunch break was blocked. So we used proxies, didn't last long though they were also blocked. The reason was this was that they were looking at the sites we were one and found out they were proxies, and promptly blocked all proxy sites. My solution was to create my own proxy, using a PHP and CGI enabled account generously donated by someone, used a CGI proxy in a folder. (the main web directory was my company's site). Now to stop them finding out what it was, I used a simple .htaccess authentication to require a username and password to access anything on directory of the proxy executable. So we now use that, and any time we want to go on a blocked site simply type the location of proxy and surf away, staff can't access it without password so problem solved. And no, you can't have the account info before any of you ask. ;) |

yes, that is what the circumventor program uses above, it basically makes your computer a proxy server. and nobody wants your account info. i could maybe find it if i had your e-mail address.
damn. my school is similar, but not that harsh. we have a centurian setback, where any changes to the hard drive are immediatly reset upon restart. we also have a fatty firewall server. but we can run foreign executeables. we have 100mb of disk space on our server to store files on. this centurian guard meant that i couldnt save my firefox settings. because they are kept and read in the Application data folder. so i found a way around it by zipping the contents of the folder, and make a self executing EXE file. so every time i log in i just run the executable and then run firefox. phew... it should still work. Portable is marketed as a copy to be used on a usb thumb drive, but pretty much all it is, is a copy of regular firefox that has been modified to keep its settings in the same directory as firefox, instead of in the Application Data directory or whatever. A list of modifications

like I said, it's marketed as a thumb drive app, but it doesn't have to be.

i've never heard of it, and a web search reveals that the name is pretty common among many different things. Happen to have a website for it?
