A few things to remember:
-Shop around, certain sites have better prices on certain items. -Never ever buy top of the line, always go a model or two below. -This computer WILL BE high end, so expect the price to reflect that. -This simply covers the tower. -This computer also has extra expenses like the case, which could be cut in half if you got a cheaper case, but it won't be quite as pretty. Hard Drive: Look for the best price per gig. I found a harddrive (refurbished) that goes for 32 cents per gig, and is Serial ATA-150. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_g...3744609/qlty=r Price: $81 Processor and Motherboard: Bundles on Tigerdirect are great! Heres a AMD and SLI compatable mobo. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...083&CatId=1619 Price: $304 Memory: Lets get some cheap memory, 2x1GB will do great. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=1071020 Price:$200 Video cards: 2 x 6600 GT will do great! 256MB right there. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...110&CatId=1839 Price: $280 Cooling: Keep the system cool so you can over clock the hell out of it! Skimp no expenses! http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...169&CatId=1057 Price: $190 Case: You gotta look sharp, don't have people laughing at your pathetic case! ASUS VENTO for you! http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_g...rch=ASUS+VENTO Price: $118 Powersupply: Lets get a modular power supply so we don't have any more cords than what we need. 500 watts is a must. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...746&CatId=1079 Price: $50 DVD burner: No need to overspend here....16x burner dual layer and you're set. http://www.pricegrabber.com/p__NEC_N...iter,__9395718 Price: $43 Total: $1266 for the tower Once again, this tower will run ANY game out today, and chances are any game comming out in the next few years. Though, I personally wouldn't suggest getting a computer now.....I have a feeling cell processors are right around the corner. ![]() |

And remember kids, Never ever go soft on cooling or power supply. But I myself can't live with a awesome audio system. I have 10 inch top of the line Sony speakers and a Sub Woofer that the people above, below, and to both sides of me hate.

My dad went out of town, so I took the speakers from his beamer. Now, just to figure out how to hook 'em up.

I bet you got those deals from dealmein.net?
That place works pretty well for parts...for now I'm trying to buy this pretty good gaming computer for about $1446 in total. I'm still thinking whether to get an Alienware or stick with building my own computer. |

My friend's alienware had a ton of trouble during the last few months before his warranty ran out, and they dicked him around about fixing it until it was out, trust me you don't want to try to deal with their support lines. Stick with building your own computers.
The deals were from pricegrabber, newegg, and tigerdirect. |
