Here are two videos of people doing cool and stupid things with dry ice...

Warehouse bombs

Testing different fluids with dry ice

I might just have to contribute with one of my own, as i have been lately making a few bombs.. only 2 have been loud and only 5 have actually worked.. 3 of them failed me :\

That was tight...just that the part that wasn't tight was the fact that he got blown up.

I've done that before. We had the same problem before one of my friends whacked it with a stick. They are LOUD. We were able to master the ice to water ratio and got them to go by themselves.

That looks like we should try it...yet it's all risky because you just don't know when it will go off so it's something that we may not want to try.

You can buy it at an albertsons if there is one around you. Call around first to make sure. In some states you have to be 18 and in others you have to be 21. Depending on the dry ice delivery people who deliver it to the stores, it can go from 1$ a pound to 2$ a pound. If you are going to get some i reccomend 5-10 pounds. Just as i promised i took a video of my dry ice bombs.. its not done yet though, im still cutting some of it out and putting in the numa numa song .. if only i had bb's for my bb gun i coulda shot the ones that failed to go off because the lid unscrewed a bit..

OMG Dry ice bombs AAHAHAHAHA...
It was a senior prank at my school. The police came because they found "unidentified subjects inside the trash can". And the whole school got shut down and everyone's evacuated. The guy who did it has to pay a large fine, go to jail for 2 years, and repeat senior year.

And buy gloves. Those things will burn you. The term "Dry ice" isn't what it says. It's basicly like solid Co2 and evaporates.

Poor chicken...

This occurred numerous times, but the one I remember the most was one night last June when he made a small dry ice bomb by shoving a piece of dry ice up a live chicken's rectum, then plugging it with a wooden cork. It built up enough pressure inside the chicken to blow it apart.

Heh, no wonder the guy at my school is under so much trouble.

Wow... I wonder if the chicken is still edible.

Talking Dry Ice Bombs

Fill water bottle (bottles similair to water bottle and water bottles only!) with 3/4 water. stick a bunch of dry ice in there, screw on cap, BOOOOOOM!!!! i went this weekend to my cousins house. went to albertsons and got some dry ice. they would only sell us whole brick cost $10 ouch. did it with a flavored water and water bottles sucessfully. anything bigger than that wont work just pressure pops.
Some fun things to do w/ dry ice:
1. Stick it to your tounge!
2. Get a can of coke, and put some dry ice in there and see what happens!
3. Dry ice bombs
4. Get a bowl of water and put a chunk of dry ice in there for a fog machine!
5. Get a metal tool and hold it against a chunk of dry ice it squeals!
6. Put a small chunk of d.i. on a metal surface it spins!
7. Put some dry ice in your dad/friends muffler. Start the car, and tell them you started the car and thats what happened!
8. Don't kill your self!

Have fun lil kiddies, lol.

Here's some advice if you want the bomb to work well.

If you want the bomb to be really really loud, use a 2 liter bottle, or better, use a 3 liter bottle.

Make sure you put LOTS of dry ice. That way, it won't be just louder but safer as well, and goes a little faster. I think water works the best. Other sodas and liquids might react with the CO2 and it will be slower. Less water and more air will make it louder but it will be slower. I suggest half the bottle or less of water.

If it doesn't explode, be VERY VERY carful when throwing it. DO NOT hold the mid part of the bottle. Hold the bottle by the cap. That way the chances of exploding while you're holding it will be much less. Wear a GLOVE, EARPLUGS, and GLASSES when you are going to throw it. Make sure you throw it as soon as possible or it might explode while you are holding it.

Trust me. I know what I am saying. One exploded on my hand just like the fat guy in the warehouse. It is a HOT POTATO! It could explode anytime. I am saying that you should wear protection because it had damaged my hand and eardrums pretty bad. Your hand shakes all night and it burns and it hurts and there are lots of blood. Your ear rings for almost 2 days.

Although I haven't done it, I think stepping on the "hot potato" with a shoe is much better than taking a risk and throwing it. If you step on it, you can hold your ears and protect your face and I don't think it's going to hurt you at all if you have a nice shoe. I am totally trying that next time.
