Not that I want to start an argument, I just want to systematically tell you your failings:

1. That approximate tar amount is per marijuana cigarette. Most people smoke more cigarettes than they do weed. Not saying it's the best thing for your lungs (inhalation of smoke will never really be the healthiest activity ever), but it's never slowed me down from running 6 miles. Also, smoke it through a bong and many of the health concerns are allayed somewhat.

2. That decrease in mental activity is almost completely temporary. However, long-term habitual users (>= once a day, every day) can suffer from low-grade cognitive degradation and short-term memory loss.

3. You're going off stereotypes. I'm willing to bet there are a number of pot users that are more active than you (including myself). You only choose to believe what you've been told by others that are just as uninformed as yourself.

Either way, I still don't ever plan on picking up the habit of smoking weed. I get enough crap in my lungs by simply going outside and not smoking. Wouldn't want to add onto it. That's just my preference.

Nah, it's totally understandable. There's nothing wrong with NOT smoking it, either, and I think it's probably the best choice. I should actually cut back...while under the effects of THC, you're an utter slug.

I just don't think people should discount it for the wrong reasons.

A lot of kids at my current school smoke pot, and my school is still still the best academically in the state and in the top 1000 in the nation.
My old school has a ton of people who chew. That shit is the dumbest thing ever. Why would anyone do it? It just fucks your gums, teeth, breath, etc up. At least weed gives you a good feeling.

yeah, it amazes me how some people here had braces and spend like $5000 on their teeth, and then they chew and fuck em up in like a sec. Someone in my class is going to even have to have gum surgery soon cause of it.
I actually did read somewhere that out of all the things that people do, marijuana is the least harmful. That and beer were at the bottom of the list.

But it still falls under the addictive category, making it a drug in my eyes, and you said it was dumb, but then went on to say at least pot feels good. Pot is also a drug, you indirectly said they were dumb, yet you went on to say something good about pot.

Umm marijuana has no real physical or psychological withdrawal, so it isn't actually addictive. It's just some dumb assholes use it as a crutch for their lack of something elsewhere in their life.
