haha, WRONG, 127.0.0.1 is NOT your own IP Address. You maybe should take that 1337 hacker userbar out of your sig. Its the localhost. And again, you dont hack someones computer with an IP address.

and plus you cant attack 127.0.0.1, if your on a normal computer...theres nothing there.

Frookie...you dont even know what a keygen is, you said it was 'some kind of decoder thingy'. which is completely off base. So yes, I do know a lot about your knowledge of computers.

nah, you use the residential gateway. it looks similar to this.

~java@euirc-a97f9137.dip.t-dialin.net

IP addresses are extremely general. If your using say AOL you and 5 other peple could have the exact same IP address.

the entire internet runs off ip addresses. the hostnames are there only for the convienience of the users. the internet in general does not understand them.

I know this is off topic, but if you unfocus your eyes and stare at your avatar, it gives you a headache.

If not with the IP, what do hackers use then?

I was aware that IP addresses are not very accurate. As I stated before, on large ISP's there can be people who have the same IP address.

Except in very rare situations (such as clustering), it is impossible for 2 separate devices to share the same routable ip address. If you're seeing the same address somewhere, it's either a proxy or a nated connection. I can guarantee the machines originating the request behind that proxy/nat device have their own unique address.

MAC addresses are absolute too arn't they? because they're not dynamic.

In theory they are. Its possible to change MACs so there's no guarantee that they are unique everywhere, but as they are only visible to other directly connected devices, its not critical as long as they're not on the same network segment.
