i don't want to hear any crap about the name ok?
heres how it works:
one person must name a band.
the next person to post must name another band that is in a similar genre...
ill give an example
1.Metallica

2.Slipknot

3.Marylin Manson

RULES:
do not flame other people on their choices as it is that persons OPINION that the bands sound similar....
no "THAT BAND IS GAY! YOU'RE GAY BECAUSE YOU CHOSE THAT BAND!!!!!" stuff.... just don't do it...

Just think of bands that have recording contracts or did have recording contracts with major labels. Sony, Epic, etc..

Okay are you and I listening to the same album? Because AFI's first album is nowhere near MCR's first album. I mean I know I'm not supposed to criticize, but Answer That and Stay Fashionable is bomb-ass hardcore punk. I Brought You My Bullets is...not.

if you know you shouldn't criticize then don't... the fact that while he thinks they are similar, you don't is whats keeping this game going... otherwise we circle around in the same genre for ever.... don't you see?

Plus... (my apologies for stretching this even farther) MCR themselves said that they never considered themselves to be punk or part of the punk scene, and actually willingly removed themselves from it. I was just referring to the fact that both albums are kinda muffled, and don't sound as structured as their later works.

Erm... yeah, that is all. >_<

I won't compare a band to A Static Lullaby because the one I have in mind would probably piss you off.
