Movies ruined by sequels

What are some movies that you thought were great until the sequel came out and ruined it?

Give reasons why!

Personally, I think horror movies are ruined by sequels...all the time. Such as the exorcist

I don't think a sequel has ever ruined the original movie for me. But pretty much every sequel I can think of was crap. The anouncement of Saw II was enough to make me very dissapointed though.

I don't like the idea of sequals. They always are way overestimated. Books have the much better idea. For a sequal for the average book, they change the title completely, but say "second book in the yada yada series", so people aren't so hyped up about it, and then the reader gets to formulate an entirely new opinion about the new book.

actualy, starwars 5(the empire strikes back) was a little better than 4(a new hope)...

I think oceans 11 was ruined by oceans 12. it just took away from the greatness of it.

For a kids movie, the atlantis movie was pretty good, but then they cane out with "return to atlantis". completely ruined it.

If a sequel does the things listed it will suck and ruin the first one.

Replace the main actors.

Doesn't air in the movies.

Goes straight to DVD's.

Alters the original plot for "artistic" purposes.

Has a smaller budget then the previous one.
