When I purchase a CD, it's usually due to the album art and case, not the music itself. I don't like the idea of purchasing mp3 files (or AAC in this case) since there is no physical ownership, and I can get the exact same thing from a torrent site.

i agree with that. that's really the only i'd pay for an album, you at least get something to show for it.

i somehow get your point.. but i like buying cd's because i'm supporting the band who made it, or else they wouldn't make anything new.. BUT also because it's nice to have a cd for your car, boat and in general just for your collection .. I know it's possible to burn a cd but's that's just disgusting..

That's one of the reasons I buy music, to support the artists and indie labels. Also, what makes burning a CD disgusting? If you use FLAC there will be no degradation in audio quality if that's what you're worried about.

Or just download mp3s in something like 320 kbit/s, I'm sure you can find them somewhere. FLAC is a huge waste of disc space IMO, but bear in mind I am not an audiophile.

noo it's just like more like burning an album i don't like but burning a collection of songs is okay.. i just hate people that doesn't want to buy an album but instead downloads it and burns it .. why not support the artist then .. ?

You don't get the cool cover/book that comes with the real CD.

I wasn't talking about burning CDs as an alternative to purchasing, but to use in the car etc. I myself don't want to leave my collection of purchased CDs in my car to get stolen or damaged.

iTunes has an option to retrieve album art, even more downloaded mp3s. So I just do that. Screw the real thing.
