Default HTC Passion

Looks like HTC has an Android 2.0/2.1 phone coming out very soon with a 1ghz snapdragon and high-res amoled multitouch display. Probably on the Verizon network (yay for me), but this is also the hardware that Google will be selling as it's own Nexus One which will be a GSM phone for at&t/t-mobile. I think I found my next phone :)

The Nexus one supports T-mobile's 3G, but does not support AT&T 3G, only EDGE. This phone does look pretty nice, but it's a shame it still only has 256MB of RAM, and no qwerty. I'm still pretty happy with my phone, but until someone launches a phone based on the Tegra 650, I'll just stick with what I have.

I thought HTC was some kind of drug. But then I realized its the gadgets and gizmos section.

It looks pretty cool. Too bad my phone contract expires in a year from now.

It turns out that the Google Nexus One actually has 512MB of RAM. It is still unknown whether the HTC Passion will be 256MB or 512MB, but I don't see why it wouldn't have the same specs of the Nexus One seeing as it's essentially just a CDMA version of it.

I'm going to hold out, see if better android phones pop up later in the year. Which they no doubt will.
Unless I can get the 46-inch Nexus One on display in Google HQ's main lobby.

Well, it's basically been confirmed that the Motorola Droid will not be a single phone, but an entire line of phones. Similar to the way we have the iPhone and then iPhone 3G or 3GS, we will likely have a newer version of the Droid based on either Snapdragon or the new 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 based CPUs from Samsung. The S5PC110 and S5PV210 that are on their way, and they should be more powerful than the current Snapdragon chips available in the Nexus One and HTC HD2 despite being at the same clockspeed.

It would be nice to see some Tegra 600 series based phones on the market, but I am doubtful we will see wide adoption of these chips as they've been available for awhile and no one has decided to use them for a phone at this point.
