Default Xbox360 price drops

Now that the Arcade is only $199, the 60GB Pro is $299 and the Elite is $399, are any of you last-gen gamers going to make the jump?

The Xbox360 only has 3 available hard drive sizes, 20GB, 60GB, and 120GB.

I'm telling you, you are wrong. Microsoft only makes 3 SKUs for the Xbox 360's proprietary hard drive. There is the 20GB, the new 60GB, and the 120GB.

Yeah, who knows; I generally wouldn't trust brick and mortar shops anyways as they're constantly trying to push pre-orders and used games for only $5 less than a new retail copy.

If you want to miss out on the majority of games coming out this and next year, by all means keep sticking with the PC as your only platform.

Its not like all I do is sit at home and play video games, so I dont really need a "game system", I just use build a PC that I can use for both work and gaming when a game comes out that looks cool.

I hate it when I go to a store and try to buy a new copy of a game and they say, "we have it used" and I tell them I want it new and they keep persisting "its 3 dollars LESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111"

It's great that you are satisfied with just your PC, but this thread has nothing to do with PC gaming, however you insist on letting us all know how happy you are with your platform of choice. I don't know why you feel the need to come into my threads for validation, because I don't care whether you like the consoles or not.

I don't mean to start a fight or anything, but you're making quite a fuss for someone who doesn't care. =P

He came in here trolling so what do you expect? Anyways, anyone else using this opportunity to jump into current gen gaming? I know quite a few members here do not have a 360/PS3.

I'd like a 360, but I'm still scared of RRoD. I also don't know about Microsoft's plans concerning Blue-Ray's dominance. (I'm sure you probably know something though, so I'll just complain about it here and wait.)

A week after COD4 was released I went to Gamestop and bought a used copy for $45. Had no problems with it at all.

Well, the newer hardware revisions have made the RROD less common, although it still happens to newer units, even with the die shrink and Microsoft's band-aid solution. Microsoft is going to continue to push digital distribution and will use their new partnership with Netflix as a way to try and compete with the PS3 as an media device. Yes, technically Blu-ray did beat out HD-DVD, but I wouldn't call their position in the market "dominating". Blu-ray sales have been pretty weak and aren't improving nearly as fast as Sony and the BDA have been hoping; the fact that Blu-ray players haven't really dropped in price since the defeat of HD-DVD, isn't helping their case. Blu-ray movies are still usually $10 more than their DVD counterparts, making it a difficult sale when many claim that the improvement is unnoticeable over DVD.

I realize that it's not really "dominating", but I remember after WB's announcement to publish solely on Blu-ray, Microsoft said some things about considering switching the 360 over in some way, or maybe making an attachment. I haven't heard anything about it since then though.
