Default g-prime: the band

so we should make a band. i don't think i've ever heard of a band that doesn't actually play together physically, so we could be pioneers! anyone who is proficient at something can post it, then anyone who wants to make a song with parts for everyone can post it, then everyone records their parts and we put them together. w00t!

Well, I'd say that I'm proficient at Piano, Violin, Accordion and mandolin, so there's that.

Here's a song that was actually just written today. It's extremely rough considering we wrote and recorded it within the span of about a half an hour, most is improv.
Accordion: Me
Guitar and vocals: L Shefski.
The lyrics were a joint effort.

You can find some more of our stuff by following the link in my sig.
If you like what you hear, lets do a collaboration.

I didn't know you could play drums. Why don't you start us off with a drum beat?

Can I? I have an electric set. MIDI out, Alesis DM5 module. I'm too lazy to figure shit out with MIDI so I just put a mic in front of the amp and record to audacity from there.

Go ahead. I haven't recorded anything yet, because I figure with this sort of collaboration it would be best to start with the drums.

How fast do you want it. Or, I'll just do something, loop it, and you can speed it up as you wish.

Doesn't matter, just give us a beat when you get the chance.
I'll lay some accordion or piano on top of that and see how it goes.

i am proficient in guitar (elec and acoustic), accordion, bass, piano, harmonica, djembe (african rythym drum) and can play a couple other things but not necesarily as well..

i also have proffesional recording and mixing programs so it may be a bit better if instead of recording on top of the track, record a seperate track and i could splice them together and add effects where they are needed..

I think we'll do just fine if everyone participating has Audacity, like I'm assuming every respectable musician should have.

i have cakewalk atm and i'm trying to get a copy of protools to use because they are just a little more professional and have a greater variety of uses once you get the hang of them.

if thats the way you guys wanna do it though, thats cool.
this could also become a regular thing maybe... people posting beats of riffs and other members laying down tracks ontop of it...

that would be quite the awesome... do you agree?

I quite like a didgeridoo. We used to have a song with a didgeridoo in it, but nathan never plays it anymore...
I liked that song too.

Edit: Nathan is the guitarist of Fuzzi Puddle

The didgeridoo is quite fun and easy, and its the only instrument I ever really play due to that. I also dabble in guitar and bass, but they are much harder, so I get more easily frustrated and quit sooner, and bagpipes, which are crazy as fuck and I can barely play them.
