Sorry for the irrelevant and obscure title, but it increses my likelihood of having John click this link by no less than 30%!
Anyways, I think it would be good if the right margin of the message-typing box had useful smilies in it. I mean... , , and even ? Not that they aren't good smilies to have, but how often do you think you'll actually use them?Yeah, so my idea is to put good, useful smilies there. Most of them really need to go. So anyways, here's some smilies that would make great replacements: : roll1: : brow: : sad2: : g: : thumb_yel : mf_w00t1: : laugh2: : sad: : bat: Last edited by Stokes; 05-17-2005 at 03:39 PM. |

Another idea would be to organize the smiley page by level of usefulness or category.
Traditional "emoticon" smilies would be towards the top where they're easy to find, then smilies that are commonly useful would follow, while smilies with very specific uses or little use at all would come last. I mean, don't you hate scrolling for 20,000 leagues just to find a smilie with his tongue out? Or a raised brow? seriously... Last edited by Stokes; 05-17-2005 at 09:10 PM. ^Mine doesn't have that one...
Are they randomly generated? Mine are always the same 15, 11 of which are completely useless... John...nathan...get it? I don't get it... Last edited by Stokes; 05-17-2005 at 09:07 PM. |

Mine seem to be somewhat random, but it seems to favor some more than others.

Mine are ALWAYS the same, whether I'm logged in at home, IT lab, library, or anywhere. And I assumed that held true for eveyone, because I frequently see people posting things like the smiley pile, the smoking guy, the R2D2, the ^^ smiley, and others. But if you say it's random, I can't argue... |
