Why do the English versions of Popular Jap-Animes suck?

That said, I was watching Cartoon Network for the first time in about 7 years this morning, and I've come to the conclusion that CN, like the education system, has failed us all. But it's not all animation. They ARE still some good cartoon series out there.

So make a list of your favs and summarize them/ what made them so great. I'll make a list of my favs when I have time.

I don't watch much anime dubbed. One I that I have watched dubbed though would be Slayers. Good anime with a pretty decent dub. FLCL and Excel Saga were pretty good too. Also, too lazy to summarize as requested. Just look them up on wikipedia-much faster.

The voice is done by a girl. Its horrible. Even Al sounds manlier. Which he is, so nvm that.

My favorite is Ouran High School Host Club.
And it hasn't been dubbed yet.
But acting by past experience, I don't think I'll watch that version anyway.

Yeah...there are a lot of these girls at my school that just talk about that anime so much and apparently I don't see any guys talking about it. So I just assume that only the girls watch it.

You're right. Only girls watch it. It's basically about a bunch of pretty boyzz.. and that's as far as my knowledge on it goes.

That's not really it, I've seen a lot of guys talk about anime. They aren't exactly gay or anything. Just that most of them tend to be pretty much anime nerds, and a few of those guys who do talk about anime are actually pretty cool.

Hmm. I've only seen a few animes, and never dubbed. Unless you count that time I watched an episode of Card captor Sakura dubbed. *shiver* NEVER again.
