which nation\nations according to you guys is\are going to become superpower this century...and why?

1.india
2.china
3.russia(again)
4.brazil
5.australia
=====
i included australia in race bcoz there are many things similer between
USA before world war 1 and australia now-

1.usa was always away from fire of wars as its mainland was away from battlefields
(also australian land is away from danger zone)

2.usa had a good ,stable,established- political, economical and industrial environment before wars

thats why US companies got benifited during world wars (by selling arms and other products and their economy became stronger and stronger )

India and Brazil are 3rd world nations so they can be excluded, Russia is still repairing themselves from the cold war so they can be ruled out. I would defiantly say China, because of the money they have and the amount of people they have.

I just don't think that we will be the next big power, I think that china has more power than us at the moment, they are powerful enough to scare the shit out of North Korea.

China is probably the single greatest military in the world. They have millions of soldiers, and they're on the same technological level as America.

China already is a superpower, Brazil hasn't enough political notoriety and just like GWIA said, Russia and India are out, although India is a nuclear country and holds a fair amount of outsourced jobs

I believe you're underestimating China, you have to realize that they have the largest army in the world. It's so large that they probably don't even need to fight a war using tactics, they could just throw men at you until you lose.

I don't even like china, I just know they are far more powerful than my country, I do however think my country is better, even with the whiny bitchy wogs.

I'm pretty sure if India got the technology, they could be the next big superpower after China, considering they have the 2nd largest population in the world.

China is probably the single greatest military in the world. They have millions of soldiers, and they're on the same technological level as America.you wish. I don't even think they have an aircraft carrier. They fly old-school Mig-29's. And their army is supported by by T-72's, a relatively primitive tank similar to the T-34, in that the turret has a tendency to "pop off".

Meh. Last I heard, they were researching laser technology. Also, I don't wish they were that powerful, because thats a scary thought.

Just so you know, they are around 50 years behind America.

Yeah, thats what I usually hear. When I said that though, I only meant on a military scale. But even then, Napalm pointed out that they use some dated weaponry. Shows how much I care to research. XP

You know China developed a missle that can hit satelites now and they already tested it by blowing up an old communications satelite.

I am with you guess_who_i_am China will be the superpower country but I love my country too much and China will take years to be come a "the" superpower. it will be Russia or it will Russia 2 times longer then China will, maybe it will be before China. the countries can be a 3rd world countries to be a superpower also but it will take them a while but they can do it.
Why do you, Ryu-Naccho, think China is the greatest single military country in the world. Probably our country is the greatest single military country in the world but I think we do not know how to use it right.

China has one of the largest armies int he world and China is already a superpower, not exactly the only one but nevertheless China should be a superpower. I don't know about Russia much though.

I don't think a huge population necessarily makes a good nominate for superpower. China is...huge...and very populous, but it's not like wepons of mass destruction don't exist.

If there were a battle between the United States and China, the world would break out into a nuclear wasteland. They would be using all these atomic wepons and nerve gases to take us quickly before we could do too much to retaliate and we would be using whatever we sould get our hands on to decrease their numbers.

I understand that there's more strategy and politics to war than this, but this is how I think it would turn out. It would be a sort of nerver-ending struggle. Them with all their people and us with our defences.

Well, the missles are old technology. But the thought of China having this kind of technology can be a threat because the fact they can take out satellites means there's the possibility that they can take out the communications of their enemy during a war.

I think the point is that we have everything imaginable for war, short of massive machines that we get inside and operate.

This world is going to end so quickly. Let's ally ourselves with Japan now.Well, its not really japan. And you're not really corrected by any means, as this is a matter of many, many years or research and development,(50 give or take 25 I my guess). Who knows if walkers are really a practical solution, as shown in star wars, they're rather easy to trip.

Erm....well, actually.

A)China's large population does matter in the long run
B)China is a bit behind US technology in general, but how much is pure speculation because that would be like a country revealing their military capabilities...
C)China does kind of hold America's neck in economic terms... that's the only reason why America is paying so much attention to the RMB currency...
D)I think battlewalkers are useless irl but cool in 2142-.-

A)China's large population does matter in the long run
In many ways. Unfortunately it almost means they have more mouths to feed during the war. So I would generally turn that against them.

B)China is a bit behind US technology in general, but how much is pure speculation because that would be like a country revealing their military capabilities...

I'm not undermining china's technological advancements, but its almost no comparison. The B2 American stealth bomber has been revealed only recently. but it has been in service for over 30 years. Technology we consider so advanced now, is nothing compared to what is currently in service that we don't even know about. Hell, we already had flying saucers in the 1960's.

C)China does kind of hold America's neck in economic terms... that's the only reason why America is paying so much attention to the RMB currency...

This is true.

D)I think battlewalkers are useless irl but cool in 2142-.-

True also.

China is closer to a revolution than they are to becoming a superpower, in my opinion. Their disease percentages and poverty line are both really high right now.

Of course, the most vulnerable government in the world right now is the French one.

I was just about to point that out. The working class is getting pissed on at the moment. There is a growing middle class but I don't think it matters all that much. It's still a feudal-like line between rich and poor. MAJOR political reforms have got to take place in China before the entire country boils over.

since china has no democracy and many people are being opressed therecommunism doesn't work on a large scale. The Second the USSR stopped feeding money to its protectorates. They fell into capitalist revolutions. Social Darwinism always prevails.
