Being a hardcore gamer dosent mean you own a ****load of games and suck at all of them. I am a extremely hardcore gamer, i play a few games at a time and i spend about 18hrs in one day playing that game, i had played Counter Strike a few years ago, i played awp map and trained my awp till it was nearly perfect, i had to go for a camp and when i returned after a week i was on lousy form and i played lousier than my usual, i was so pissed i stopped for a few months, when i came back i was much worse and noobs had the guts to call me noob, i was extremely enraged so i stopped playing and 1.6 had come out which had many changes...the guns did not feel the same which was a total turn off, and so basicly i spent 2 years of my life, 8hours during school months and 18hours during weekends and holidays perfecting my game and it all ended up worthless..sometimes i wonder why i never went out and took part in competitions..well nows it was all just a total wast of my life. In one word i become one of the best there is in that game, i've been doing this for the past 7-8years and well i've ****ed myself due to my obsessive complusive disorder, I failed my sec. 3(year 9) and had to repeat it, i bearly scraped through sec. 2(year 8) and my studies are screwed. If anyone is out there and is just starting or is already in the process of ****ing himself but no damage has been done, i will just say this, take control, you may think you have control but prove it and stop wasting your life, games are entertainment not life. I thought i was in control but even now while i am trying to stop i still find myself coming back on thinking to myself, just 1hr..than it becomes 5hrs..than 10..save yourself. I just felt i had to say this, now i am canceling my internet connection and going offline for good..i think.

not in a crappy mood, in a serious mood, this is a serious issue. You only have 24hours in one day, if you own one million games and play them, well unless 999,999 are just for show value, you will be trash at all of them, this guy is obiviously too rich and is just buying them for display value, i do have enough wealth to buy that much and more but i find this kind of splurging just for show off value stupid and childish, a hardcore gamer is someone who plays games a lot, this guy could be keeping them in thier shelf a lot as i suspect. I have nothing more to say, my net cuts off today so just save yourself while you still can.

That's a very stereotypical comment, and taking things far. Far from the truth for many, for some, okay, it could be true. I agree there are some people that have problems and are addicted to games way too much. But you know, just because someone plays games, doesn't mean they're unproductive. It's a form of entertainment, if life was without entertainment, how could you go through your life and like it? You guys make it sound like every second you spend playing games is a total waste. There are many other things you can spend so much time doing, even sports for that matter, and turn it into a problem.

Maybe you didn't understand what I was talking about. Video games are fun and all, I play them too, but playing eighteen hours a day! That's just crazy. Do something productive (Making games is fine) and vary the way you spend your life. If you stay inside and play video games all day every day you'll never taste life. I don't understand how some people could do nothing but play video games all the time and still be entertained. I'm not trying to tell people how to run thier lives, well maybe I am a little, but it isn't healthy to play video games (or do any other thing for that matter) too much.

even though i love them, games are not a needed in my life. But i do enjoy them and like to play them when i have a little extra time. Id hate to say it but school and sports come first.

Some of you guys ound like absolute idot's. i mean once a day for 30 minutes is fine but all day. Get a job. No wait get a lady friend. You will become a healthier person and will also get a bit of romance in the process. Take my advise and get a girlfriend as like me you will find out it's the best thing you can ever do.

but yea, i would say people who use all their money to buy video games so that they can put them on a shelf so that hopefully they will increase in value is even worse than becoming a video game addict who will never see the light of day, or the dark of night in my case, i am nocturnal, alot of people say they are nocturnal but i realy am, im not one of those people who stays up all night drinking Jolt cola and playing x-box, i actually go out and do stuff :happy:
