60GB of drive space and a Terrabyte of transfer overhead? I call 'bullshit'. You're not going to find a shared hosting, or reseller hosting that supports 60Gb of space. Even the most competitive of hosting companies are going to over 30Gb of space for $89.99 per month, with only 250GB of trasnfer bandwidth.

You write like a 14 year old. You can't afford 60GB of space and there isn't a hosting provider in the world that offers a Terrabyte of bandwidth. You can prove me wrong by providing a link to the company you 'rented' this server from.

Idiot why didn't you understand me ? :(

I rent a full server.

Athlon xp 3000+
1024MB ram
60GB Harddisk ( thats what i mean ;) )
1 Terrabyte traffic

I'm just running some other things on it , like 3 Counterstrike Servers , Teamspeak-Server , Bouncers for Irc

And i still have 55GB free space.
So what can i do with it?

Wraith u understand? A full server!!
I can do withit whatever i want.

For example : http://www.1paket.com/neu/english/index.html

wraith, u can buy dedicated serves with 1200GB transfer and quite a substantial amount of space for £60 a month, and he never said he was on a shared server? i think you mis understood a bit?

edit, john is also on an un metered server, he has unlimted bandwidth (well unlimited to the point of, 20mb/p/s*60*60*24*30 = 51840GB in a 30 day month possible) and john tends to use about 10,000GB a month i think in reality which is a 5th of what is possible, otherwise downloading a video would infact be as speedy as dial up for broadband users.

which means, a 4mb file, such as some of the video he hosts - can be suppled to around 2500 people a month on the basis that he uses 10,000GB month, minus other files, this forum, images he hosts for abs, people watching a video to or more times about 1250 people go to this site a month =) (and he has a back up server which hes had to use for the site a while ago so really its probabily 20,000GB a month and 2500 people =))

So gprime has atleast 2000 unique visiters? on a retarded basis of calculation

well that was fun

You're incapable of writing English in a manner that is easily readable and I'm the idiot?

Re: http://www.1paket.com/neu/english/index.html

I continue question the validity of your information and claims.

Connection
100MB Non-Capped Network Connection / Uplink 1 GB

A point of presence that has a different CIRs? What is this, some DSL providing ISP? What...is that some example of skewed channelized comitted burst rates? It would be the most non-standard, screwed up implementation I've ever seen in all my years of network architecture. Consider various tier 1-3 backbone provider technologies:

http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,,sid9_gci212004,00.html

My place of employment utilizes multiple DS3 POPs, at 44.736Mbps at well over several thousands of dollars per year. Do you see any backbone connections which are "100Mb"? How about 1GB? Network points of presence are measured in MegaBITS per second, not MegaBYTES. For a service provider to be advertising connectivity in MegaBYTES, and stating numbers which aren't technologically feasible, tells me they either don't know their head from their ass regarding the network infrastructure they are reselling over or are flat out lying.

Munich's ADVA’s Fiber Service Platform, which is where the datacenter for 1paket.com is located in, cannot support the speeds they are claiming with their offerings, regardless of whether you have dedicated fiber, a legacy SONET/SDH network or an Ethernet transport infrastructure. I find the 100Mb/1Gb connection claims quite ridiculous.

I also question whether or not you pay $79/mo. for this service AND offer free content hosting to some obscure messageboard you hadn't posted on prior to a few days ago. How old are you? What do you do for a living? I've yet to meet a teenager whose parents weren't well off who could use their 'allowance' to allocate resources in the sum of $79+/mo. for some server hosting contract. Yet, you arrive - having never posted before, bearing expensive gifts? Gift horses...bearing gifts? None of it adds up. I still call, 'bullshit'.

Besides, I tend to steer clear of 'businesses', especially hosting businesses, who spell "bandwidth" as "Bandwith". German or not, anyone engaging in electronic comerce with entities who perport repeated spelling and grammar disparities are just begging to get involved with a less-than-professional venture. If a technology company can't even spell correctly, they're certainly wouldn't get a single dollar of mine. SuSE is a German company and they seem to spell every English word correctly. Let's not even get started on all the pathetically worded sentences in 1paket.com's Terms of Service:

http://www.1paket.com/neu/english/index.html

Then again, no one has ever heard of "1paket.com" and there is probably a reason for that. It's probably a 'business' being run out of the basement of some kid's parents house. But, I digress.

Domain Name IDN: 1paket.com
Creation Date: 2004-10-18 16:20:41 UTC

Let's not even comment on the fact you claim "Athlon XP 3000+" and that dedicated services offering states, "Intel Celeron 3066 MhZ". It's just another example of nonsense that doesn't add up.

Actually, I thought it was MB myself, but you are right.
Logically I guess, it would be bit because a megabyte is 8-bits?

Makes my equation somewhat wrong, unless you convert it to bits ;)

However, I think that was only an example, not actually the server he rents. Its a bit hard to say you have an AMD when they clearly only sell 1 type of intel.

Anyway Voodoo, I don’t quit think judging the accuracy or truth of something is being insecure. Being a little over offensive in some peoples opinion isn’t justable reason for “insecurity”

Which, is why I stated:

You can prove me wrong by providing a link to the company you 'rented' this server from.

You'll notice, he has yet to do so. I hope you're making some inquisitive visits of your own opinions as to why not. I host lots of servers and I can tell you where I lease all their space from, too. There is a reason he is keeping mum about specifics, about details...

That's very generous of you, but right now we're hitting the 20,000GB+ bandwidth usage mark each month, and somehow continues to rise. We just got another video server too, so I think we're set for a while.

the average file is ... say .. 1MB (most games are pretty small). We use around 20,000 GB (not MegaBytes) a month, so that's 20,000,000 MB.

20,000,000 MB divided by 1MB is ... 20 million, which is pretty close to our monthly traffic.

Crazy, huh?

20,000 GB? That's over 20 Terabytes, which just isn't feasible. I could believe 20GB, but I would find it highly unlikely you're transfering terabytes worth of data - nor am I aware of any hosting providers that offer terabyte-level services. I think you may have become a little overzealous with your 0s.

Hi, I would be very interested for a Teamspeak Server if the offer still exists.
It would be really nice when you would host that.
If you'll ee that message, than write an email adress so I can write an email to you.
