Hey guys -
I'm an undergraduate student at the University of Southern California. I'm a senior, and am currently taking one of their classes in game development. It's the history of video games! It's an awesome class, and a lot of fun. I'm giving a 20 minute speech this Wednesday, and I wanted to do it on the history of Flash games. I was wondering if you have any resources that could help me, or if you could give me any information on games that revolutionized Flash games.

It's really hard to find any formal history online, so I'm trying to create my own :)

Even a list of good games from '95 til now would be great!

Thanks,
Ben Lisbakken

Well what genre of games do you want? This question isn't very specific, with the information you gave me I could list a crap load.

Shinobi - so I'm trying to do a very general history of flash games. For instance, what was the first flash game with physics?

The optimal response would be a list of games that each introduced something that turns into a common theme in flash games. For instance, there's genre's of 80's arcade games... which was the first? Also, there are a whole slew of flash games where you try to hit an animal/person/object as far as you can with a bat, like the penguin game (http://www.flashgames1.com/games/sport/penguin-shooting-game.php).

So I'm not looking for specific genre's, I'm looking for innovation within flash games. Anything that furthers a concept in flash games, or makes creative use of the technology for it's time is worth note!

Thanks for your responses! Any suggested games with their approximate creation dates are very much appreciated!
