On Wednesday, I decided to start trying to take God and religion more seriously, ditch the Agnosticism thing. But, I'm already starting to reconsider; I've gone through a lot in the past couple days, and now it's to the point where the possibility of my youngest sister's death has arose.
Thoughts?

Christianity is all about hope, so it's probably a good thing to have those beliefs while your sister is ill. I hope she feels better.

Well, the reason I'm thinking about reconsidering is that all this bad stuff started to happen after taking up faith. XP

It's not like God's picking on you. I would give it a little longer, have some faith. It couldn't hurt.

I don't have a problem with it, nothing wrong with believing in God. Just don't take it too seriously.

I mainly wanted to point out that things went down after taking faith. I figured a few people on here would take serious advantage of it, but nothing as of yet.

Does the word "Satan," ring a bell?

*edit*

I'm very sorry... I don't mean to sound rude. That isn't my intention.

Ahahaha! I didn't even consider that!
Time to do the 'in your face dance' to Satan!

So you all realize:
I like to fabricate my life to make it seem more exciting, or more than coincidence, which is likely what all this is. But, then, they say that coincidences are well planned.

Note: Are coincidences conspiracies? *End note*

I've met a few dumb devout Christians, but most of 'em are very intelligent, several at my level even. I think one of them may actually be smarter than me.

The only dumb "devout" Christians would be the White Christians that are also White Supremesists.

Natus Lumen

Or those that expect everyone else to be devout Christianbs too. They kind of suck.

Yeah, I kind of hate those guys, I especially hate it if they just nag you on your smallest mistake.

Ryu, I hope your sister becomes healthier in the future. As for believing, there is nothing wrong with it, as long as you can accept other people's beliefs and values.,

Oh, she's fine now. We acted quickly, so she'll be ok. Thanks though.

"Not this time"...comforting.

Like they said, just don't take it too seriously, and for the stars sakes please don't become part fo the new age hypocrisy. (you know, the stuff like "good loves everyone...except for black people and gays...read the small print") Just don't lose yourself amoung what you "should" believe, or else you'll just be another monkey on a leash.

There. That didn't sound too rude did it?

Is there a reason exactly why everyone here is dictating what it is that Ryu can and cannot do? Last time I checked it wasn't up to you.

"Okay you can do this, this, and this... but then when you start to make ME feel uncomfortable you're going too far. Sure I can talk trash about your beliefs all I want, but I don't want you to be open about it because I don't like your beliefs. You should accept everyone else's beliefs, but I don't really want to accept yours. It's too much work to tolerate your one belief system, but you should tolerate all of the other hundreds that belong to people you have never met because it makes us feel better."

That's a good point, but I'm just giving him some advice, he doesn't really have to follow it.

Okay, that was way to long to read. Basically I say "Believe what you want to believe. Have faith in whatever you want. Just don't take it so far as to infringe on other peoples lives." There are some messed up extremists out there, there are Muslim extremists, Cristian extremists, Satanic extremists, and yes, even atheist extremists. (Oh yea, there's also PETA) What I'm saying is, personal beliefs become a problem when people don't just accept them as personal beliefs, and start using their own system of values to dictate others lives. And that ends up with really bad results. So there is such a thing as going to far. For example, I don't mind going out in my best dress (and looking pretty damn good), but I'm not going to stand on the streetcorner wearing fishnet stockings and a corset giving out blowjobs to fat truckers for 25 bucks. (though I'm not sure why I related cross dressing to prostitutes, It's late and I didn't get much sleep last night)
Anyways, enough of my useless nonsensical rambling.

Or those evil sons of bitches, ie. the Westboro Baptist Church.

Frank

A lot of the time with churches such as westboro, is they either take something in the bible out of context or twist what the bible says into something they want it to say.
They say in there that the reason for the soldiers dying in Iraq is because God is punishing them for their sins. That completely condridicts what happened to Job in the book of Job. And read this verse from Matthew. "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." Matthew 5:45 And this verse, "For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 and this one, " For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23 I will get more on this later.

Westboro Church officially sucks, I rest my case there.
