Flying a glider is really cool! The launch is amazing, 0-60mph in 2 seconds then after that you have a climb of about 1000ft/min. It a mega experience. Really quiet too.
I had 3 launches with my 'gliding induction course 1'. on GIC2 I get 4 and so on. When I turn 16 i can no longer get GICs I would have to go for a Scholarship. Unfortunatly on the day, the thermals weren't there to keep us in the air but it was still an amizing thing.
My instructor said that i was really good for my first ever time. I kept the turn well, stayed at a constant altitude and speed (1900ft & 50kts), this is uncommon for most beginner cadets as they usually have a negative pitch with an increasing airspeed as a result.
So heres the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTEFnFalEhk
Enjoy :D
