I'm confused, Is V for Vendetta based around Guy Fawkes? I never saw the movie or read the book, but I keep hearing about it.

In a way...the main character tries to recreate what Fawkes did.

The movie is not based on Guy Fawkes, rather the main character is like Guy Fawkes and as Pink Floyd said. He wanted to re-create the Gunpowder Plot.

Looked up a bit, now I get it. (I never realized that the main character wore a Guy Fawkes mask)

When I watched the part where they were talking about Guy Fawkes I had some clue the mask was a Guy Fawkes mask.

You mean Agent Smith or Elron from Lord of the Rings. I don't know his name exactly, but I do know what he looks like.

The guy from V from Vendetta was played by Hugo Weaving?! Either gussa's referring to him or Keanu Reeves, or Lawrence Fishburne. But I highly doubt it's Lawrence Fisburne.
