It will be $1000 excluding memory cards, game controllers and games so if you are getting the system (with hardware bundeled), one memory card, one controller and one game it can cost about $1275, it doesn't matter how good the graphics are it is not worth it, biggest waste of money ever who would be stupid enough to pay $1000 for a PS2 with one or two new features, better graphics, but the gameplay and originality of the games stays as bland as ever (except GTA which is also on XBOX and PC) this console will be sony's demise.

$1000 Australian dollars? It'll be $499 for the 20GB without HDMI and $599 for the 60GB version with HDMI output. The biggest flaws with the PS3 lay within Blu-ray and the Cell processor. The Cell processor's yields have been so bad they may need to disable more SPEs than they originally intended, and the Blu-ray is simply too expensive for a game console at the moment.

Yeah, I find it that hard to believe the PS3 will cost a grand or more.

Sony is so stupid, ditch the damn blu-ray thing. I really liked my PS1 and 2, but I can't believe what they are doing now. I'm just mad that I won't be able to play some of the awesome games coming out for it.

I'm gonna wait for the PS3 to go down in price, but I'm definitely getting one eventually. Sony has a lot of really good exclusive titles that I'm looking forward to.

I will also get one when it goes way down in price, but that will be a long while.

You're gonna have to wait a year or two, asuming most people wait for the price to drop then they will stop manufactoring games and accesories and crash and burn, This is why I am getting a Wii then a 360.

There are enough loyal sony fans to keep it going.

you don't understand that HD DVD and Blu Ray have been planned for a while. Sony can't just last minute change Blu Ray, they have been endorsed with it and can't just change to something else. Also, it is a great price at 600 dollars since a Blu Ray player is 1000 dollars.

The machine is a rip off, with no controllers, memory paks or games it's $1000 who gives a fuck about your blu-ray shit it won't make the gameplay any better will it hell no.

No, the PS3 is $600. I dunno whether or not it comes with anything though.

Yes, it comes with wireless controllers, the system comes in black, white or silver. The controller has this special motion sensor because some people who play racing games like to lean the controller while they steer, now you can steer with the controller instead of the buttons. Its backwards compatible to the ps2 and the ps1. I think $600 is worth it. Its gonna be sweet. And yes, the Blu-Ray does make the gameplay better. Loading times are almost nonexistant.

EDIT: oh and yes, it doesn't come with memory cards, but it has internal memory, so there arent any more memory cards. I think the only reason GWIA doesn't like the system is because he prefers Nintendo. everyone has their preferences

The only reason Blu-Ray is there is for watching 1080p HD videos through your PS3. At $600, the Xbox360 is a much better buy.

Motion Sensor for a controller, that was one of the first things nintendo revieled about the Wii (or back then the revolution)

Ohhhhh. I think you're right Floyd. I didn't think about currency differences between countries.
By the way, PS3 has recently revealed that they are going to call PS3 the PS Th-Wii.
...
Yay for parodying my favorite game console guys, Sony.
