The only thing that looks unique in that game is the character customization they have. Though, that by itself could make the game much less repetitive than the previous titles.

I haven't played mortal combat before, I might get it, but first I want Tekken: Dark Ressurection

Tekken sucks. It is one of the worst fighting games you could think of.

Mortal Kombat has lots of stuff, there's mini games, air kombat, special moves, fatalities, all-sorts! And this new game's gonna have it all!

well tekken has a half-descent story line but MK is just so DAMN CLASSIC ITS ADDICTIVE

Tekken is not that bad, as for MK. It's a classic for the violence and stuff.

Well...I've only played Street fighter and soul caliber games, but tekken: DR got really good reviews, so I wanted to check it out.

I still want to get Tekken 5. Why did my brother have to go and swap Tekken 4 for a crappier game...

Drunken_Shinobi

I already have Tekken 5.

I went out and bought Tekken: Dark Ressurection just now. I'm gonna hafta try it out later.
Uh-oh, this thread has been hijacked. It's now a Tekken thread!

Yes, now the MK fans are going to try to hijack it back into MK.

Axel

Yeah, well so far it's not working.

Drunken_Shinobi
08-13-2006, 12:58 AM
That's because they just aren't hijacking it back. I mean of course it's not going to work if they're just not going to do it.

Ryu-Nacho

Well, I played Dark Ressurection for a bit, and WOW. Even for a console game, it's amazing.

Axel

DAMN you make me wanna buy it...

Drunken_Shinobi

Then buy it, you might as well just get it.

A game called Mortal Kombat: Unchained will also come out for the PSP. I wish I had waited to get Tekken instead of getting Street fighter alpha max 3.

Ryu-Nacho

I've been considering getting that too. I'm a fan of 2D fighters. Heck...I'm a fan of fighters in general. But 2D fighters have a much faster pace, and I love that.

I'm actually pretty good at games like Soul caliber, but Street fighter alpha 3 max kicked my butt.

Axel
08-14-2006, 05:02 AM
Soul Caliber is funny when you "accidentally" put the fighters on infinite health so the only way to win is to knock them out of the arena. Oh and anyone like the King of Fighter series? They also did a clash with Capcom, sort of.

Ryu-Nacho
08-14-2006, 05:09 PM
I've actually never played KoF before. But, that clash with Capcom, you mean SNK vs Capcom, yeah?

Drunken_Shinobi

I want to get into the old school sprite games again, it's good to become good at those because if you can own at those then surely you can own at the 3D fighters today.

Ryu-Nacho
08-14-2006, 07:23 PM
No, there is a huge difference between the play styles of 2D and 3D fighters. 3D fighters require more timing and strategy, while 2D is more about pulling off as many combos and specials as you can, as quickly as you can.

Drunken_Shinobi
08-14-2006, 08:05 PM
It doesn't matter, you still have to know old school to be good at the new stuff.

Exactly, and with 3D fighters it's harder to corner. And if you've ever played DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi you'll see the difference. Oh and Ryu-Nacho I do mean the SNK vs Capcom clash. They have the best DMs

Ryu-Nacho
08-15-2006, 03:42 PM
Yeah, Teknaichi is ridiculous; impossible to corner an enemy AND pull off a slick combo.
Axel, whats DMs? >_>'

Axel
08-16-2006, 12:49 AM
Desperation moves, that's the KoF phrase for specials. It basically means when you're low on energy, your "ki" bar goes to max so you can perform a move to save your sorry ass.

In other words, you can say a game turner.
