But its web config is somewhat better than a wrt54g at some points, and worse in others. :P

WPA2 is nice though.

does the middle thing spin around, because that would be awesome

they

Thats wonderful, all the little antennae and paddles and stuff need to spin around and make beeping noises.

And then be thrown into space and broadcast a message to the alien life forms!

It won't let me name it like my wrt54g would. :(

"WRT300N" is not a fun name :(

Unless you pronounce it like "were-tee-oon" then its a fun name.

If it begins picking up Satanic messages or making weird noises, say "The power of Christ compels you!" a bunch of times and hold up a cross. Or b!tch slap it and tell it, "Know your place in this world, b!tch." Both of those seem to work for me surprisingly consistently. And name it Fred, if anything.

it looks like Bugman, some random bug dude with the capability of being used as a router, he has one eye with hundreds of holes to see through

Router? Looks more like one of those portable communications stations to me.

I wonder if the antennas and head move to praise Allah

The fact that they have the unnecessary router attachments kind of creeps me out.

Frookie

it's probably looking for a signal from some sort of deity asking if it can work

Drunken_Shinobi
07-31-2006, 09:06 PM
You could use that to steal your neighbor's internet wirelessly.

Frookie
07-31-2006, 09:07 PM
I do that sometimes since our neighbors are idiots and don't know we can do that

Drunken_Shinobi
07-31-2006, 09:08 PM
My friend did that for over a year on his neighbors and they never noticed. And I believe he's still doing it to them as we speak.

Frookie
07-31-2006, 09:10 PM
we did it when we had none at ours so we could use it to transfer confidential medical documents to people who had to get them

Drunken_Shinobi
07-31-2006, 09:20 PM
Well everyone does that now and then. Just jack your neighbor's internet for free internet if you don't have any, usually a smart neighbor should find out quickly and put a password on the network so nobody else can access it.

Lol, I know, right? It's part of that 802.11n standard. That and the MIMO.

It looks like some machine my mum has in the kitchen I think it's her new microwave (the colour scheme that it)

they

I'd kill for a linksys microwave. That thing would probably microwave on a frequencey other than 2.4ghz, so as not to interfere with wireless signals.

And it would have a wonderful web control interface, based on a linux kernel. :D

I wanted to get a router like that, but it costs a fortune. So i went with the good old WRT54G.

But.. good choice. Linksys FTW.

I'm using a D-Link and I dislike it. I want to get a Link Sys, I heard they're pretty good.

Wow, then the router must be crappy. I'm sure you can get better signal at 5 meters, and the signal would still be good even if you backed off a bit further. Unless 5 meters is the best routers can give, then I have to take all that back.

no they can get better
i under exageratted that. im about 10 metres but i have solid stone cement walls so they interfere.

Exactly

those little antennas look like they could get a charge going between them and if the beam is large enough you could see it

i have a wireless d-link, i'm 100 feet away and down a floor from it and its good enough to use xbox live. i even get host occasionally. it really still depends on your service provider.

make sure you've got a security key on it, maybe someone's stealing your internet and sucking up all your bandwith
