Why should I give a damn, It doesn't affect me in anyway, america could suddenly blow up and it wouldn't affect me.

Yeah, unless America still lives and declares war, so John Howard decides to drag Australia into it.

gwia
07-25-2006, 04:40 AM
John Howard may be a kiss arse but he's better than Kim Beasly

Axel
07-25-2006, 04:43 AM
Nah, mate. Kim Beazley was much better. If he had lost some weight, he could've stood a chance this time around. However, he could've already been Prime Minister by now.

Are you kidding every time labour has been in power they have stuffed up our country, Howard introduced GST because our country was still screwed from when labour was in power, they give people heaps of money up front but then the country goes bankrupt and taxes rise it's happened in the past and beasley would just do the same thing again.

Axel
07-25-2006, 05:03 AM
Yeah, well some Labours got it right. Gough Whitlam abolished National Service (thank god!). However, if Paul Keating hadn't tried to help aborigines he wouldn't have had such a short term.

gwia
07-25-2006, 05:08 AM
The Labour Party stuffs up usually and if you listen to Kim Beasly he would stuff up too he promises to cut GST, cut taxes, give bonuses to working class people and famlies, how long will the money last if he's spending it like that.

At least Mark Latham didn't become Prime Minister. What a sore loser.

Australia probably gets most of their products shipped in from the U.S, so you'd actually be screwed.

One flaw I see in the poll.... Arnold can't be president.

Neither can George Bush (If he's talking about the upcoming election).

I'm glad Arnie can't be president.

Natus Lumen
07-25-2006, 03:48 PM
Well, really, neither can lolitsaxel or anyone who isn't American. I think this thread is strictly hypothetical. I mean even a dumbass in Antartica would laugh at the fact of Arnie becoming president.

Havn't seen anything that says made in the US on the stuff we get, we have Kraft, Cadbury and other factorys over here so yeah wouldn't affect me.

No offense but the assembly of the goods matters little. Most of the raw materials comes out of the following countries (Australia, US, China, South Africa) now in what order I haven't he foggiest. But the last data I saw said those countries dominate in raw materials. The trade between each is enormous. Remove any and the others feel it believe me. I work for a global company and watching the trade route that goods and assemblies take will amaze you. We manufacture small parts in Germany send them to the US for further processing and then on to China for finish processing and distribution around the Globe. Global economy learn to live with it, everybody is important, much to my dislike.

Now on to the Poll. I voted for me. Because well I know what is best for me. Who happens to be the most important person to well me.

Now if Switzerland blew up, then all we'd lose is cheese and fine watches. And, if you had a Swiss bank account, I guess you'd lose that, too.

Drunken_Shinobi

Axel

Ah, well I'll live. Imagine if all the places with coal and oil blew up, we'd be screwed then as coal takes ages to form.

Drunken_Shinobi
07-27-2006, 10:10 AM
Well, yeah we would kind of be screwed. In fact our transportation would probably go back a couple of years.

um no
we have one of the worlds biggest meat industries, we make our own cheese and milk, we have our own electronics brands, we "HAD" our own telephone company (thanks alot john ****ing howard), we have a car manufactuer, tourism, a uranium industry. the way i see it if america blew up we would be set for a long while.

But you'd be stuck with Ibanez and Yamaha for guitars. Let me rephrase...you'd be without Fender, Gibson, ESP, Schecter, Martin & co, Taylor, and other good ones. Yamaha is actually okay...

Axel
07-28-2006, 01:37 AM
Ibanez is awesome, shut up. Well Australia is a lucky country to live in, if one country blows up say ... the countries with oil, then we got hybrids. And we make our own coal so we're fine.

Hybrids use both electricity and gas.

Drunken_Shinobi
07-28-2006, 09:43 PM
Yes, having just hydrogen would probably not power anything. I mean if hydrogen can actually fully power a car then we'd be using more of that than hybrids or gas powered cars.

gussa
07-29-2006, 12:19 AM
no
it depends on when the hydrogen motor was invented.
for instance how long did it take the world to switch from vcr to dvd?
at least a couple of years. and this is a car we are talking about. if you suddeny find there is a car that dosent take petrol, you wont dop everything to buy that car. you would have to do alot before you swapped.
=====
not true.
if a hydrogen motor was invented last yer it would take at least ten years for the whole world to switch to hydrogen.
