diet poop 04-09-2005, 11:24 AM im afraid to watch it, as i think my computer might blow up trying to process that ammount of data.
KA-BOOM!!!
cereal_killa 04-09-2005, 02:21 PM this thing takes forever! I've watched the intro about 7 times now! lol
kyrigo 04-09-2005, 02:28 PM I loved it! It was great, I've always been a fan of Nintendo music.
It was a nice spin on the classics, enjoyed it, and it loaded extremely easy for me, but that's because I don't have dial up :).
diet poop 04-09-2005, 03:08 PM wow! those are some good singers!
i like how they called it a classic piece from japan, it realy is s classic
teampots 04-09-2005, 03:10 PM that has to be the absolute best rework of game music ever :P thanks John you really made my day with that
wsxdragon4 04-09-2005, 03:55 PM this is extremely creative..i like how they threw everything together by singing rather than with instruments, like im used to...same old boring instruments...but nope! not these people..they only use their personal instrument, their voice, and its great.
btw, anyone know the song they're singing at like 1:20 and at 1:45? i know the rest of them, just these two i can't pinpoint it..it sounds real familiar, and im pretty sure 1:45 is a continuation of 1:20...anyway yeah, thanks.
Nickshorts 04-09-2005, 04:55 PM This was great, reminds me of the group " http://www.nintendopella.com/ " although I don't think these are the same group, but it's still a great premise. The guy running around as mario didn't impress me, neither did most of the stage acting, except Zelda and Tetris amused me a lot, the tetris thing was creative.
treefalse 04-09-2005, 06:02 PM That's what it was? Tetris? OH! That explains the falling people...
I thought the music was very well put together. I wonder what creative music they will do next. They're all very tallented.

The Gameboy Tetris song A if you didn't know, the NES tetris had a different song for song A, sounded a lot like the sugar plum dance of the song or whatever.

At 1:20 it is Dr. Mario and at 1:45 it is Super Mario 3
PINOYwitRICEhat 04-09-2005, 10:37 PM taht....was kinda cheesey....to me....but oh well....nice update
Can we get the link or ftp or something on where I can download this to my PC directly.
Mouse 04-09-2005, 11:22 PM that was just amazing. I was laughing so hard I almost fell out of my computer chair. I mean wow. That was just.. -is speechless-
It loaded fine for me.
Here is a direct download link (it's hosted on my website. It can handle it)

I think it's the Dr. Mario Fever theme: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/drmfever.mid
That's one of my favorite NES songs.
the last samurai 04-10-2005, 10:58 AM love it watched it ten times in a row last night and 2 times today
amazing stuff
soxdm 04-10-2005, 11:01 AM Um, Tetris is Russian, not Japanese.
wsxdragon4 04-10-2005, 11:46 AM At 1:20 it is Dr. Mario and at 1:45 it is Super Mario 3
hmm...guess i have to play SM3 again lol...
the vid is great. i love watchin it/listenin to it. im not too fond of the guy running around like an idiot in the beginning...notice the audience isnt too pleased either...at first when he jumps its ok, then he runs out of things to do, so he jumps twice, then falls?...not funny. even the audience knew that. but the tetris thing..wow. creative and awesome. when i first watched this vid i was thinking "what in the world are they doing?" then i realized the song was Tetris and yeah. so cool. the mortal kombat was cool as well, except the "finish him" part where she just tapped his forehead...yeah, not funny, but i guess they couldnt think of anything to do...anyway nice vid, love it.!
in the dr. mario part, the girl on the right (the main voice) has an extremely beautiful voice...i love it. especially her little solo lol that was cool. i dunno why but girls with a high nice voice like hers are such a turn on..haha. ok im done.
aznsolaris 04-10-2005, 04:37 PM I really like that, they're really talented. Yeah, I agree some of the on stage acting was corny (such as the few Mario themes) but I liked the Tetris and Zelda skits. The Mortal Kombat one was OK too.
But besides that aesthetic stuff, their singing was absolutely superb. I wouldn't mind seeing them live.
Does Redefined have a website? Does anyone know?
djdave701 04-10-2005, 05:27 PM I loved how the added actions to the songs to show you what song they are singing. The tetris and mortal kombat scenes just made me laugh. I didn't care to much for the mario guy running around the stage.

Yeah the mario guy didn't seem to know what he was doing, except when the star theme played, it amused me when he pushed them off
-=[TNC]=- 04-10-2005, 09:25 PM i didnt care for the mario guy running around on stage but he did look like mario lol . . .
watchin that it reminded me of good times in my youth and how i clocked them all in a day good times. . .
revilo 04-10-2005, 10:49 PM That was cool as i liked the zelda music..well i think it was zelda.. but it was very clever and cool
diet poop 04-11-2005, 01:51 PM Um, Tetris is Russian, not Japanese.
ooohh, your right they messed up and said its all original work from japan
wsxdragon4 04-11-2005, 05:30 PM did anyone else notice on the mario skit that the teacher (if he is the teacher...we'll just say the guy that introduced the song) was supposedly "controlling" the mario kid running around with a controller from the left side of the stage? when the kid jumps, look at the guy sittin down..he raises his controller as if hes exagerating the movement of mario jumping lol.
kewmat 04-11-2005, 05:57 PM good job john, yet again! very creative stuff. brought me back to the old nintendo games where you had to blow in them to get them to work each time. i sorta wish it was possible to still make todays games with those cartridges, wouldn't have to worry about scratching them :p
isharted 04-11-2005, 07:19 PM The Zelda part was the best by far. I really love the Zelda theme, but the movements were really good too. i was waiting for him to bust out the boomerang :P tetris movements were creative, too
aznsolaris 04-11-2005, 11:13 PM did anyone else notice on the mario skit that the teacher (if he is the teacher...we'll just say the guy that introduced the song) was supposedly "controlling" the mario kid running around with a controller from the left side of the stage? when the kid jumps, look at the guy sittin down..he raises his controller as if hes exagerating the movement of mario jumping lol.
Wow, very good eye. Now the first Mario skit isn't as corny. The guy plays and makes Mario jump, then kicks the Nintendo when Mario dies. And come to think of it, when Mario dies, he does shrug and then just fall. Makes a whole lot more sense now.
Hahah, I remember back when I used to physically move the whole controller to exagerrate the motions, like twisting the contoller when turning in racing games... heh, what a newb I was.
Nicolas.NET 04-12-2005, 03:23 AM Um, Tetris is Russian, not Japanese.
It is indeed invented by Russians, and there is an ongoing battle for copyright issues, because it seems the Russians do not have a hard copy of the licence.
Here is a site explaining the history of Tetris (http://www.atarihq.com/tsr/special/tetrishist.html).
An easier-to-see version done by the BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A938874).
wsxdragon4 04-12-2005, 06:36 PM i guess they were just using all the games made for the nintendo system in general, since nintendo was japanese ( i think ) so yeah i guess they assumed that they originated from japan.
also to be a musical critic.....at 1:52-1:54, the solo male singer, doing the background beat, slowed down at 1:52 which made him go off beat for about 2 seconds...the other two female singers noticed it as well since they looked at him, which is why he smiled cause he knew he messed up. yeah..he sucked. lol i guess when the singers joined him he slowed down cause maybe it messed him up..but there shouldnt be any excuse for that.
Also, in the very beginning, at like 0:42-0:43..did it sound like that tall tall female singer "honked" her note? she was like..."hanh" her note lol..sorry that just bothered me a bit.
and what was the point at the beginning when the instructor guy "booted up" the game and he put it in and said "boop!"?..last time i checked my game systems dont go "boop!" when i put a game in or turn it on lol..i guess he was tryin to show the audience that he pushed a button i suppose...lol. my $0.02
wetard13 04-12-2005, 07:49 PM That was pretty awsome. I just wish my chior could sing that good....
Mithras 04-12-2005, 11:27 PM Let's see... they do (in order)
Mario opening theme
Mario Main theme
Dr Mario theme
Dr Mario theme in different key
Mario Star theme
Tetris theme (w00t)
Mortal Kombat (that's the obvious one)
Marion Underground theme (pipe theme)
Legend of Zelda: Original theme
Mario Dying theme
Hope that helps
Mithras
Oh, and when people sing with no instrumental background, it's called "A Capella"
Hey, Thanks Mithras. I'll add it to the Song in Videos thread.
Megabeast 04-13-2005, 07:33 AM Mmm, a late reply on my behalf.
But, anyway. That Retro gaming music opera thing was pretty good, it's the kind of thing I'd find corny usually, but nah, that was pretty good. I actually knew most of the songs, but I was caught of guard because I originally just thought they would only play Mario songs.
Proims 04-13-2005, 02:44 PM That was awesome. I loved how they acted out the tetris blocks falling, and mortal kombat.
rcraft1 04-14-2005, 02:06 PM Pretty froakin' great for the most part, but it would've been much better without that jackass kid trying to jump around like Mario and then falling for no apparent reason.
And that Mortal Kombat song wasn't from the frickin game >_<;;. Its from the movie... that awful, awful movie.
when the kid fell, it was because he got killed. You know, when mario gets hit, he puts his arms up like that?
at least that's what i think he was doing.
frankiepankie 04-14-2005, 05:55 PM i found their homepage:

Thank you captain obvious. We all know that he died, we didnt think he just fell for the fun of it. the question is though, why does he just fall? like he didnt get hit by anything, he just ran back n forth about then shrugged and fell. and i thought in the game, when mario dies, he doesnt raise his arms, he puts them over his face like hes crying or something. hmm.
Mouse 04-14-2005, 06:15 PM Just for you people who missed it the first time.
Click here for direct download link! (http://www.canrg.com/public/nintendothemesacapella.wmv)
Don't worry, it's hosted on my website, it can handle the traffic no problem.
djdave701 04-14-2005, 07:35 PM Thank you mouse for putting that out there because i was ticked off when i saw that he hid the video. I always like to watch this everyday.
E-Money 04-14-2005, 08:53 PM Let's see... they do (in order)... ... Dr Mario theme
Dr Mario theme in different key
Mithras Said that they played Doctor Mario, and then Doctor Mario in a different key. The one in a different key is actually from Super Mario Bros. 3, The Hammer Bros. Theme. They do sound quite similar though.
Aside from that note, It was pretty good, but I bet being at the actual performance would be mich better in person. A great idea though.
Mouse 04-14-2005, 11:52 PM Thank you mouse for putting that out there because i was ticked off when i saw that he hid the video. I always like to watch this everyday.
haha, no problem. We have 100 GB of bandwidth, our webhosting company upgraded their plans so we got a free upgrade :)
Basically we've gone from using 400ish MB to 5 GB

Got it on my PC now thanks to Mouse anyways *shrugs*
Mouse 04-16-2005, 02:30 PM Yah, we he orginally said that it would drain bandwidth, I went and downloaded from the mainpage and hosted it on my webpage :)
Megabeast 04-16-2005, 06:03 PM And many thanks handed your way Mouse (:
Eagger 04-19-2005, 08:06 AM Alright, first, the Tetris part... omg! it's very original and very funny! i've shown this clip to my classmates and teachers yesterday and we laughed our asses off... hahahah
now for the mario jumping around... take a closer look, he doesn't just die for nothing... he runs, jumps, then realises he's stuck between 2 bad guys... he can't go either way, he panics, jumps twice, then die. The reason why he lifts his arms, is because he's like "ohh darn, there's nothing more i can do... death is near" lol. I thought it was pretty obvious, but some of you maybe just didn't see it. Some of you might think the acting was poor, but to have the guts to pull this off on stage... i respect that. I 'm not saying I could have done better... espcially if i'm a singer, not an actor. It was entertaining and that was the point of acting it.
the Mortal Kombat's FINISH HIM was cheesy, no doubt about this one...
and Zelda was very well done, the power swing was funny ;)
anyway, they're very talented (for singing, of course... lol ;P) Overall: 9/10 (i can't deny i've been watching it like 10 times a day since it's up on gprime. ohh and thx to Mouse for the d/l ;))
aznsolaris 04-20-2005, 07:59 PM Props to you Mouse. But I'm really surprised how some people don't realize that you could have downloaded to your computer directly off gprime.net anyways.
Isn't it obvious if you're watching the video that the file is in some temp folder on your computer already? Even so, viewing the page source for gprime.net would allow you to access the direct link to the file.
Just a comment.

It's in a temp folder I think so it doesn't stay for long. To really find the link you have to view the source code, or if you have Mozilla/Firefox +Adblock, there is a little addblock tab on top where you can click to block the images actual location. Just copy and paste into browser and download :)

tylerk15 05-10-2005, 01:42 PM Wow. This I love. My friends love it, but I know this better. I actually HAVE a NES, dude!
If you can make any of the NES games for the arcade, tell me. I'd be glad to give my input, or some help :)
The Bowser theme probably could have been better.
The opening theme for Nintendo was awesome.
The Mario skit was unbelievable.
Tetris was hilarious.
Mortal Kombat was good (especially the "Touch")
Zelda was unbelievably hilarious
End Mario theme was very well done!
I LOVE IT!!!
gussa 06-05-2005, 07:54 AM finnaly some people willing to bring really good sounding music out of crappy polyphonic pling style and into da 21 century
