So heres the deal. Ive got a website (hosted by godaddy) and they also host my website with storage. Ive got a little extra space and was wanting to let my friends have access to a read and write section on my ftp with godaddy. Just a specific folder. The only thing though is I want to restrict them and give them their own login + password as of course I don't want them editing any of my files. Anyone know how I go about this?

I use ftp but i aint too expierenced or bothered with wanting people to use my accounts but you could set up a Wan ( Wide area network) which for some people might seem a daunting task but once you learn the tricks of the trade it can actually be really fun, I'm not gonna even tell you how to set up a wan cause i don't wanna talk in great detail but you should google it and read all about it cause it'll take you on a ride of self discovery. Sure it won't upload to your ftp but you can have folders on your desktop where you can communicate with them (and yes update files as if it was your own folder between many online users) and if you approve you can upload the files. I'll say this though, it lets other pc users access your pc on designated folders you have assinged to them and it doesn't let them access to your dektop folders you don't want them to see.

BTW : Don't ask me why i remember but i do for some reason but are you a member of Albino BS.

Through FTP (usually in Godaddy control panel), you can create seperate FTP accounts (directed through special directory folders) with usernames and passwords. Username is usually *username*@mydomain.com.

If you need any help, just PM me.

I'm a bit of a hypocrite saying use wans as i have never tried cause i don't have time, but wans is a way you could do it.
