View Full Version : Torrent paranoia 06-06-2006, 07:52 PM How good is Bittorent compared to Limewire? caleb 06-06-2006, 08:50 PM I like it more because you can download larger files and *complete* albums. It's pretty nice! Don't be shocked away by slow download rates - you're supposed to leave it on for a long time (one download of 2-3 gigs could take a whole day, even more). isharted 06-13-2006, 04:39 PM BitTorrent is a little more sophisticated in the manner of how it sends/receives files. i'm don't know how it does everything exactly Limewire just finds people to download from and starts downloading Limewire also puts a bunch of adware/spyware on your computer, which people like me get paid to clean off :) Bosman310 06-15-2006, 12:07 AM I find bit torrents take longer, but they are more reliable. VooDoo 06-17-2006, 12:43 AM Bit torrent is the king i Love it, i live it, i friggin love it all hail to bit torrent, search demonoid on google it's a good rock band ;) BTW: The application (Bit tornado etc) might be how you use it but you need to go to designated websites to find the goods. MrNaPaLm32 06-17-2006, 01:35 PM Advantages and Disadvantages of Each: Bit-Torrent: -Advantages Less chances For Faking Filenames Ability to Multiple files with one download -Disadvantages Generally Slower May require registration or passwords Gnutella(Limewire, Bearshare, Gneucleus) -Advantages Faster More files -Disadvantages You never really know what you're downloading Sometimes a lack of illegal software |
