View Full Version : Which Is Better? Airsoft or Paintball

Airsoft.

Why I think Airsoft is better: Airsoft is more tactical, you can get more pain, you get to dress up cool, and it's extremely fun. There's a million more reasons I could say on why I like Airsoft better, but I only said a few. Here is an example: Last week (almost), Airsoft had one of it's biggest events in USA, Lion Claw 5. With over 100 people, it was HUGE. They got to go in tanks, hummers (no, not the expensive kind, real hummers :) ), helicopters, and alot more. They also played for a couple of days, having GOALS (unlike paintball), and being actually like the army. Also having guns more powerfull than most paintball guns and shoot faster, too. That's just an example. Airsoft to me is way more fun, realistic, and it's the closest to the army I'm going to get right now, untill I'm 18 and join the Marine Corps. The guns look more realistic, and you don't have to run around a SMALL 20 ft. wide by 20 ft. long course, and you don't have to carry around a huge nos tank. The guns have more detail, and make you feel like your in the army, unlike paintball, once again. It's also MUCH CHEAPER.

Why Paintball ISN'T better: "Hey Tim, want to go spend 100$ for 2,000 paintballs that are going to get WASTED in 1 hour?" "Sure, oh wait, but it's 10$ to fill my huge *** nos tank ONCE, and I have to re-fill it every couple of hours." "Sure no problem, Tim. But let me go get my 60$ jersy and 150$ mask and 40$ pants and my 400$ gun!" "Ok lets go to our small field and play paintball with no goals except mark our enemies."

^^^ Exactly my point. Paintball is fun and all, but a huge waste of money that can be spent on Airsoft...

AIRSOFT IS BETTER

What do you think?

I totally agree with pr0n. But it's a pity that you have to be 16 in the UK to play airsoft, whereas you only have to be 12 to play paintball. I dunno about you, but think that is quite possibly one of the dumbest laws ever.

Yeah, and paintballs hurt more than airsoft.

Yeah, and paintballs hurt more than airsoft.

Not when you get a SAW that shoots 700 FPS!

I have a CA M15A4, it's upgraded to 400 FPS. That's more than a paintball gun. If were talking about FPS, most paintball guns can only shoot 200, 300 FPS. Yes, it only hurts more because they are bigger, and harder on impact, meaning they have an inside and a hard shell that explodes.

But the actual energy of a BB is probably less.

Interesting fact: A 9mm handgun bullet carries about the same total energy as a well thrown baseball, but the energy is concentrated into a smaller projectile with higher velocity, making it able to kill.

Drunken, airsoft isn't about, shooting targets. Anyone who wastes money on BB's for shooting targets is a dousche bag. It's called recon, CQB, HR. They just had LION CLAW 5!!!! A huge as$ event. If you're interested tell me! I can help you with gear and everything.

I know that, but if somebody is bored and you have nobody to play with the only thing you can do to prevent your guns from collecting dust is shooting something, and it might as well be a "target".

My friend and i and his brothers and their friends all play, it usually comes out to about 7 ppl but we need more excitement. so if there is any easy way to find these tournaments let me know.
btw my guns are:
250 fps Pistol spring
320 fps Shotgun spring
350 fps M16 semi/full auto electric << On the way in the mail

When he says "you can be tactical in paintball". You can be tactical like in nearly every other game ... And it's not always good for something to "hurt more".

hmmm...AIRSOFT, easilly is better than paintball no doubt. Not only are the guns more realistic than paintball guns most are more accurate. In airsoft you can play anywhere without painting up your surroundings and ruining the environment. Seeya

I haven't played airsoft before, and I've only played paintball a few times, but I shoot regular BB guns (Like air rifles and pistols, at targets and such) so I do like the idea of both. I think the concept of airsoft is better, good for us kids who don't have crazy amounts of money to spend, and it seems more tactical. I'd say that airsoft is better from what I've seen.

It's possible to upgrade a gun, but you have to know what to do once the gun is opened. If you have no idea what to do and you attempt to upgrade it, chances are the gun will just break and you get nothing as an end result.

Paintball is funner. you can see were you have been hit. unlike Airsoft which i own one the BB just falls to the ground. and half the time the BB will just be blown away in the wind. becouse there just a little pice of plastick. yes it would be cool if they made more paintball guns look more like a real gun. and yes they do have some that look like M16. paintball is just more funner and they have more playing fields for paintballs. yes Airsoft is fun but paintball is better!

Airsoft Guns are nice that you can upgrade them fairly easily.. Airsoft guns usually come with a stock aeg motor which you can upgrade to a stronger motor to handle the stiffer springs you can install to give more fps and it can greater increase your rate of fire if your one of those "Spray and Pray" shooters. You can also install a precision barrel "tighter" which increases accuracy and some speed to your .20 - ,.25 - etc. bb. One of mine is a CA M-15 Carbine with a CA M-203 Shorty attatched. The M-15 chronos at about 400 - 425 FPS. Unfortunately I cannot use it in alot of the Tournaments or Groups because of their predetermined FPS rule. Most organizations will ban your gun if it shoots over 400 fps.

Hope this helps

The only exception for that would probably be if the gun you're using a sniper I think.

Its funner? Plastick? Pice? Dude, you suck at spelling. And grammar.
Any way.
Paintball is fun, and airsoft is fun as well. I personally prefer airsoft, but I may be biased because that is what I usually play. Paintball is fun, but way too costly. It can be fun to save up some cash and go once or twice a year with some friends, but airsoft is way more convenient. Also, it can feel pretty realistic during an intense match. My friends and I play on a golf course after it closes sometimes, and that is pretty damn fun. Ever tried rolling down one of those big ass hills to avoid enemy fire? So awesome. Anyway, paintball could be more fun if you owned a gun and played in a local forest or something, but again, it costs too much. As far as marking goes, as long as you play with cool people, it isn't a problem in airsoft. Only retarded jack asses will lie and say they didn't get hit.

gussa
06-13-2007, 09:58 AM

that way, it doesn't matter what the jackass thinks because it doesn't count for anything...

Drunken_Shinobi
06-13-2007, 10:02 PM
That wouldn't be fun either, then they might as well just not call it airsoft anymore because people are just shooting each other for no reason. Of course the whole retarded jackass thing isn't too easy to pull off if you're around pros who know whether or not the jackass who got hit, especially if got lit up by a group of people with assault rifles on full auto. There's really no point in being dishonest, but people still do it and they get caught.
