Dell has announced that it will soon begin selling AMD Opteron processors in their high end servers.
While this is an incredibly disappointing announcement, it is not totally surprising. We exist inside of an extremely competitive industry and we have always had to work hard to win every piece of business.

I might consider getting an xps if they put amd processors in them.

Truth. Too many people are afraid of assembling their own compyboxes, though. It's seriously no harder than a puzzle...a puzzle that may get fried if you touch it with an abundance of static electricity in your body.
This Dell-AMD deal is a step in a decent direction. Opterons are really great server processors.
