I still don't get it. How do you tell if a proxy is "anonymized" or not? If I ping a proxy a few times and each time it spits back a different IP then its anonomized? Don't they block by domain name rather than IP address anyway?

Also I noticed most of the proxies have something like /110110A/ in their urls have you noticed that?

Just type google.com and click and then you can go any where through google. For example type gamefaqs.com in google and then click search and then click or wherever you want to go and it shouldnt block you, only thing is sometimes the blocking program will prevent you from downloading things to a computer but you can still play games, movies, etc.

Try www.googlenosafesearch.com to get through much filtered stuff, it works!

I've read almost all 12 pages in this topic but I still can't find what I'm looking for >.<

My school blocks all web-proxies, even the ones I host myself, it's almost as if it scans my site for proxies. The filter works both ways, blocking keywords in URLs and blocking the IP addresses of the site. Web proxies that encode URLs can get pass both filters, but they're blocked now, ALL of them.

It's impossible to access blocked websites without encoding URLs. All packets coming in/out of the computer is sent through the main firewall, even "tracert" doesn't work(timed out after 4-5hops, past the school firewall) so using other browsers/applications won't work.

I can bypass the IP block easily with firefox I think. Any idea if it's possible to bypass the keyword URL filter or encode URLs without using a web proxy?

edit: Proxy is also greyed out in IE, I haven't tried firefox yet, but I think firefox still works, hopefully for another few more weeks before it gets blocked.

Then do this (http://thinkhole.org/wp/2006/05/10/howto-secure-firefox-and-im-with-putty/), to configure your SSH tunnel with Firefox.

The only way school administrators can block this is by blocking the port 22, however you can always change the port, so really this created a truly unblock-able solution.

Navigate to your CGYWIN directory, then go to /defaults/etc and you will find SSH_configd or something like that. Open it with wordpad, and change #Port 22to
Port *whatever port you want*just make sure you change the port forwarding on your home router to support that port.

Ok, Have you tried restarting and starting the service manually from the services panel?

go to Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services

and find something like CGYWIN sshd.

right click on it and select start.

If it doesnt start, it should write something to the system event viewer that should tell you whats wrong. You can access the log by accessing administrative tools(Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools). and clicking on "Event viewer". Open the "Windows Logs" tree, then open the "System" button. If CGYWIN sshd did not start, you should see an error near the top of the event viewer describing why.

well, Putty will not display your password or the * charachters. so what you're noticing is appropriate. Well, I doubt this is your problem, but you need to use a username from your computer, and that username needs to have a password, which you put into the putty session window.

Other than that try winSSHD. I have no Idea how it works or anyhting like that but, but it probably accomplishes the same task. the settings for putty should be the same with winSSHD installed.

i haven't tried the ssh tunnel, but the right now the bet way to bypass a school firewall is to setup your own proxy in you own home based server, and configure it to use port 8000 instead of the default (80), the schools firewall will not even look at the website, it will let it pass like if it's a little harmless website. This will work if not all in most proxy servers

well, It would actually be better to use 80, as its less conspicuous and is always open, as some schools block all ports except 80 for web access.

What kind of program is your guy's school using? My school is using CrossTec School Vue. They use it to take over our computers, but I think they have an internet filter at the Central Building, i'm not sure what they would use for that.

You can essentially think of CGI Proxy as being a browser that does not support many functions such as Java.

Agian, if you want to do things like Runescape, you need to run a browser interfaced proxy, like something you type in the settings page of Firefox, or IE.

I have a tutorial on my website on how to set one up on you're home computer in only a few minutes that will let you do anything the web has to offer, including Runescape, so long as Java/whatever else is installed on your browser.(http://java.com/). Its free, and almost 100% secure, so nobody can see what you've been doing, unless of course they visually see you doing it....:P

make sure to put http:// and www. in front of the google & .com after websites url

oh and make sure to put in the = signs

the site just takes the site you type in and translate it which at the same time bypasses filters. en%en mean english to english (which is what everyone should use)

OK Gentlemen... here is my situation....I think I have the most inpenetrable filter... SafeEyes.

It is on my home computer.... blocking everything from porn... to tasteless and gross. Now.... I tried to look up the SSH sites you posted and they are blocked by safeeyes.... for what reason you ask? "loophole." It knows it's weaknesses... and does the same with proxies.

The closest... i mean closest... was the www.googel.fi the finnish site i believe. It allows you to see the images on images... but when you try the site... safe eyes kicks in.

I find it hard to believe you're going to a school that is that restrictive at 22.

My school isn't nearly that harsh, but they still have blocked 98 percent of the proxies and game sites online.

God I fucking hate that. My instructor in my off campus networking class put that on all of the computers. Luckily, all the kids in there are little hackers and we quickly figured out how to get rid of it. Are you able to log into the computer itself, or just onto the server?

If you can log onto the computer itself, go into the vision folder and uninstall it. It will fail to uninstall because you're not an administrator, but it will kill the process until the computer restarts.
Also if you have wireshark and know how to use it, watch it and figure out what packets are from the vision process. Whatever your teacher's IP is, change your IP address to his, routing all of the packets to you instead of him, thus blocking him access to view your screens.

Also, call your teacher an idiot for dropping the thousands of dollars on vision for me.
Anyone with a brain would know there's a free open source program exactly like vision but less of a memory whore and more features out there.
My instructor's installing that one on our computers tomorrow since his trial period ran out on vision :(

ok it still might work. any else's school have sonicwall?....that know how to get to blocked things.

i have fidured out the sonicwall username and pass for my school...but what i used to do is

1. Go to google
2. Click Language Tools
3. Scroll down to Translate a Webpage
4. Type in any website
5. Make Sure it says From "Any Language" example: spanish TO ENGLISH
6. Have fun...

P.S. If your school can only block domain names...the only way to block this is to block GOOGLE! :)

Or you could go to yahoo answers, under advanced search type proxy, and set it to psots within 7 days. 50% of em usually work

WHY CAN'T ANYONE MAKE A PROXY WHERE IT NEVER SAYS "PROXY AVOIDANCE!" I have websense. Every proxy site i try say's "Proxy Avoidance" filtered by websense. Can't they do like Free Pr.oxy browseing. Browse at school. Bypass filters. Pr.oxy pro.xy pro.xy! Woudln't get caught by the filters.

Very true, you can't put words like "pr oxy" etc on the html, the filter has BOT like Google Bot, and scans the website and find words like proxy and then goes,OOPS proxy avoidance. So the owner of the proxy jsut shot themesleves but tputting those words.

But I found this place and they make ones without any words on it at all!
