Frookie 05-17-2006, 05:14 PM nice read, wonder what the movie's gonna be like, some albino lady honestly got angry because the evil guy in the black robe is albino and that it portrays albino people as evil Ryu-Nacho 05-17-2006, 05:39 PM People take the book too seriously. I have yet to read it, or to watch the movie, so I can't say what I think of it personally. But, it's categorized as a fiction by the author, and should be treated as such. NOWAK 05-17-2006, 05:59 PM whats lon? Drunken_Shinobi 05-17-2006, 06:20 PM I'd like to see that movie since I've read the book and thought it was good. ~*Kelsie*~ 05-17-2006, 07:01 PM I'm going to be reading the book for a report soon, it looks really good. Axel 05-18-2006, 06:32 AM yet it says the documentation, etc are FACTUAL well not completely Boong 05-18-2006, 04:08 PM Ugh, it tells vewiers/readers that Jesus and Mary were not married, yes there is no evidence thet they were, but if it was a sin to have sex before marriage then why would the man who died for our sins commit a sin? Drunken_Shinobi 05-18-2006, 09:00 PM the book is fiction 100% fiction and that's all it is I'm the only one that's read that book at my school... For the book report i'm doing, I now have two books in mind. Either The Da Vinci Code or Diary Of Anne Frank, only thing is Da Vinci Code looks like hard reading, I wonder if it's ok to do, afterall this counts as a major part of my grade and i'm hoping to do well on it. Do you think the book is at 8th grade level? Drunken_Shinobi 05-18-2006, 09:12 PM I think so, I read the book at 9th grade, so I'm guessing you can read it as well. Boong 05-18-2006, 09:14 PM I read it in 6th grade, I'm a smart one. Drunken_Shinobi 05-18-2006, 10:36 PM Good for you. Axel 05-19-2006, 01:54 AM Ugh, it tells vewiers/readers that Jesus and Mary were not married, yes there is no evidence thet they were, but if it was a sin to have sex before marriage then why would the man who died for our sins commit a sin? lol it says in the book that the disciples were annoyed that jesus loved her more than the disciples and apparently mary magdelene is a saint.... >. > and im in year 8 kelsie and read it in one night so it should be a cinch well one and a bit nights gwia 05-19-2006, 02:46 AM Wow...I was expecting a bunch more people to read it, seeing that's it's a pretty good book. the year 9s and 10s found it too hard and here I am a year 8 showing them up althought I think that the 9/10 honors english class (my class next year) have read it now for an assignment Jesus commiteted no sins when he was on earth he remained a virgin and was the messaih Axel 05-19-2006, 02:47 AM HOW THE HELL CAN IT BE TOO HARD TO READ ITS LIKE 500 PAGES LONG which seems long by the 100 and something chapters gwia 05-19-2006, 03:44 AM HOW THE HELL CAN IT BE TOO HARD TO READ ITS LIKE 500 PAGES LONG which seems long by the 100 and something chapters the words are confusing for them Axel 05-19-2006, 04:10 AM laugh out loud... gwia 05-19-2006, 04:15 AM laugh out loud... I know it's an easy but intresting book hey Ilikepandas 05-19-2006, 04:21 AM The only proof behind the da vinci code's claim still is this parchment they found written by disciple which was burnt up or something and it claimed that some disciples were jelous when jesus kissed mary magdelene on the (burnt out bit). So we will never know what jesus kissed :) The bible doesn't cover jesus's childhood and growing up very much- how do we know he didn't get up to any naughty stuff back then? gwia 05-19-2006, 04:23 AM The only proof behind the da vinci code's claim still is this parchment they found written by disciple which was burnt up or something and it claimed that some disciples were jelous when jesus kissed mary magdelene on the (burnt out bit). Axel 05-19-2006, 06:13 PM *claps* Drunken_Shinobi 05-19-2006, 06:33 PM Well it's not too hard, just read it before you go to sleep. Axel 05-19-2006, 06:36 PM exactly but that ddnt seem to work when i tried to read stephen king's "from a buick 8" Drunken_Shinobi 05-19-2006, 06:44 PM Well it's hard to not take his books seriously. gwia 05-19-2006, 07:04 PM I am reading another book by dan brown at the moment Angels and Demons Axel 05-20-2006, 04:27 AM read that thats not as good as the da vinci code Drunken_Shinobi 05-20-2006, 10:59 AM It's actually supposed to be before Da Vinci code, it's the prequel to that. Axel 05-20-2006, 08:16 PM yeah its not as good though stil raises a few eyebrows but a bit slow Drunken_Shinobi 05-20-2006, 10:51 PM Well I think they're both pretty good. Axel 05-21-2006, 02:19 AM i saw the movie today :D Drunken_Shinobi 05-21-2006, 11:23 AM Good for you. Ilikepandas 05-22-2006, 01:41 AM The Da vinci codes like one giant history lesson, except mostly made up. Angels and Demons is far more gruesome and entertaining Axel 05-22-2006, 02:33 AM the facts in general are true but the guy jibbs them to make them sound interesting rehabisforquitters 05-22-2006, 10:03 AM Very good movie, too lazy to read the book. Drunken_Shinobi 05-22-2006, 10:10 AM I just watched the movie, it was pretty good. Axel 05-23-2006, 01:58 AM *claps* its not bad i reckon thats sad of the opus dei with the cilice belt and the whipping Drunken_Shinobi 05-23-2006, 06:45 PM I hated that scene where the Monk was whipping itself. It was unnecessary and kind of scary. MrNaPaLm32 05-24-2006, 02:15 AM I had it on DVD the day before it came out(Yay Bittorrent). Extremely good film. Axel 05-24-2006, 03:30 AM I hated that scene where the Monk was whipping itself. It was unnecessary and kind of scary. that bit was a bit too freaky for me... partly cos i knew he was gonna whip himself xyz 06-04-2006, 04:33 AM I just watched the movie yesterday! :D it sucked Axel 06-04-2006, 06:11 AM Did you read the book? Frookie 06-04-2006, 10:23 AM yeah, the movie sucked if you read the book xyz 06-04-2006, 10:26 AM no I didn't read the book. Harry Potter is a lot better than the Da Vinci code. Drunken_Shinobi 06-04-2006, 05:34 PM yeah, the movie sucked if you read the book Well I thought the movie wasn't that bad. It's just the fact they left out some stuff from the book, like any other movie based on a book. Frookie 06-04-2006, 11:45 PM but when they leave out too much, that's when it sucks Drunken_Shinobi 06-05-2006, 01:06 AM Yeah...but it wasn't like a crappy movie or anything. It was actually pretty good. Axel 06-05-2006, 01:58 AM Except for the whipping, that was a bit too creepy. But yes they did leave out a few important facts in the book and it was a bit unaccurate. For one Sophie's grandfather's meant to speak english at home, and Silas isn't meant to die. gwia 06-05-2006, 04:18 AM Except for the whipping, that was a bit too creepy. But yes they did leave out a few important facts in the book and it was a bit unaccurate. For one Sophie's grandfather's meant to speak english at home, and Silas isn't meant to die. actually you never hear if he lives or dies do you, you just know that he was wounded badly I think he died it's all about how the reader adapts it. I never thaught that sir Leigh Talbing would be the teacher when I read the book I thought it was Bezu Fache Axel 06-05-2006, 04:29 AM Yes it does sound like it would be him. AND YOU CAME BACK GWIA YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*cheers* gwia 06-05-2006, 06:24 AM Yes it does sound like it would be him. AND YOU CAME BACK GWIA YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*cheers* this thead was one of the reasons, I watched a documentary on the da vinci code yesterday it was very interesting it said that the Templar knights couldn't have dug that far down underneath the temple of solomon with those ancient tools and they interviewed the people who are supposed to be ther heirs of Mary Magdelene and Jesus Christ and they just laughed and said they didn't think that they were the heirs of Jesus (Sorry for ruining the book and movie people who havn't read it, I won't spoil anymore) Frookie 06-05-2006, 08:20 AM lol, if anyone actually didn't read the book, just don't look at that post hmmm...and if they did dig that far down, would all of life's questions be answered?
