View Full Version : New controller for PS3
They ditched the boomerang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:ImagePs305.jpg) controller.
Now they have another one that's much more similar to the PS2's.

aaproductions 05-12-2006, 04:05 PM Man...I was lookin' forward to hunting 'roos with my Boomerang Controller. :(
Ha! I thought the logo and controller looked like spider man.
I so glad they changed it. Im thinking that the USB inport on the front is for psp connection?
EDIT: Oh, its for charging it. I was hoping it was for psp...
Ryu-Nacho 05-12-2006, 04:37 PM Yeah, playing PSP on the TV would be awesome.
They do have a way to hook up the PSP to the PS3 somehow.
Heyyou27 05-12-2006, 07:20 PM Yeah, playing PSP on the TV would be awesome.
Except for the 480x272 resolution.
NOWAK 05-12-2006, 07:21 PM you have a sig!
Heyyou27 05-12-2006, 07:24 PM you have a sig!

guess_who_i_am 05-12-2006, 07:24 PM It's about time they changed the controller, I hate sony but that boomerang controller was the ****test thing ever, but yeah now they are using the exact same design as the previous 2 consoles weee!
NOWAK 05-12-2006, 07:28 PM lazy bastards..
Ryu-Nacho 05-12-2006, 08:07 PM It's a good design. Everyone likes it, so why not keep it?
Except for the 480x272 resolution.
Meh. It'd be better than staring at that tiny screen.

PS3 fails.
Ryu-Nacho 05-12-2006, 10:24 PM I have a hard time telling what the heck is going on in that picture.
marios mom 05-12-2006, 11:27 PM So do I...
guess_who_i_am 05-13-2006, 02:35 AM It's a good design. Everyone likes it, so why not keep it?
your serious you know people that like that stupid boomerang design?
your serious you know people that like that stupid boomerang design?
No, I believe he was talking about the regular playstation controller.
Ryu-Nacho 05-13-2006, 11:30 AM Good observation Floyd.
Led_Zeppelin 05-13-2006, 12:33 PM The controller also has a "tilt" feature. For example, if you're playing a Gran Turismo game, and you tilt it to the left, your car will slightly turn left.
I have a hard time telling what the heck is going on in that picture.
Thats the Sony CEO trying to control warhawk with his ****ty controller.
Edit: Here it is again.

bagel head 05-13-2006, 02:18 PM I just thought of something; If the system was silver, wouldn't the control be too? Or is that just every other system?
Led_Zeppelin 05-13-2006, 02:33 PM The system is available in black.

Liquid_Snake 06-04-2006, 07:12 PM Ok....
Frookie 06-04-2006, 10:48 PM so I guess the numbers are for the player number you are?
Viper 06-05-2006, 07:35 AM of course
pr0n_rulez 06-05-2006, 11:25 AM The boomerang was way to big. I like this one much better.
Drunken_Shinobi 06-05-2006, 09:34 PM Good change, the boomerang sucked anyways.
Liquid_Snake 06-07-2006, 10:49 PM Of course! If you where playing a hard game,When ever you would throw the controller and yell z0mgwt3hfukkh4xx, It would come back at you and hit you in the face.
Drunken_Shinobi 06-11-2006, 07:59 PM Then again it would always serve as a back-up weapon, just in case you don't want to pay and wait for shipping and handling for a boomerang from Australia.
MrNaPaLm32 06-11-2006, 08:39 PM Then again it would always serve as a back-up weapon, just in case you don't want to pay and wait for shipping and handling for a boomerang from Australia.</stereotype>
Drunken_Shinobi 06-11-2006, 11:13 PM Well that's where the Boomerang originated, you always want the authentic Australian boomerang, not the ones you buy from just anywhere else that's made in China or something.
MrNaPaLm32 06-12-2006, 12:04 AM Well that's where the Boomerang originated, you always want the authentic Australian boomerang, not the ones you buy from just anywhere else that's made in China or something. No, egypt actually.
Bosman310 06-14-2006, 11:19 PM Why is it so popular in australia then?
MrNaPaLm32 06-18-2006, 12:36 PM Why is it so popular in australia then?it isnt. we call these "stereotypes".
viper.gtsr 10-03-2006, 06:19 PM People do it all the time.
marios mom 10-04-2006, 03:52 PM Yeah, it's like second nature.
guess_who_i_am 10-07-2006, 05:41 AM Ahh sony they never change no matter how confusing their controllers are...
Just cos you have a shit opinion about everything.
Hellraiser 10-07-2006, 09:43 AM sony's stock droped 7% yesterday because of a fluke in the testing
viper.gtsr 10-08-2006, 08:35 AM Fluke?
Deverill 11-01-2006, 05:41 PM The boomerand may have looked ugly but it had some amazing features... now we are stuck with the lame duel shock 2 <.<
The Ps3 has been prosponed to be relised untill March in Europe... Ran out of blue raws o.O
Also... Sony lost rights to the GTA games.

Wouldn't you rather have vibration than motion sensing? I'm sad that we won't have vibration.
I wouldn't mind motion sensing, it would be different.
Liquid_Snake 11-03-2006, 06:36 PM I have a hard time telling what the heck is going on in that picture.
He is testing the Tilt Function that they ripped, I mean, "Borrowed" from Nintendo.
I actually saw a video of one of the editors on gamespot control Ridge Racer with the tilt function on, and he got the hang of it pretty quickly.
MrNaPaLm32 11-05-2006, 02:03 PM He is testing the Tilt Function that they ripped, I mean, "Borrowed" from Nintendo.Actually If you want to get technical on who stole what, Nintendo "borrowed" the electronic gyroscope from William LLoyd. ITs nothing innovative at all.
