Do you think its right that Ps1 was discontinued or not?

The PS1 was discontinued but it has nothing to do with the console sucking.

It's a fact that it's been discontinued. The console IS awesome, but not the best ever.

I got my hands on a couple of the PS1's a couple of weeks ago....
Had to take a look inside, and see if I could make one good one out of two faulty.....
I am happy they have discontinued the ps1... they are 'ORRIBLE to try and fix.
We have the PS2, and the latest generation "Slimline" PS2, the flip-top external power supply one.... its a lot easier to use, and lets be honest here, "Disposable" technology.
With the possibility of the PS3 coming soon, if they ever decide to go either "Blue Ray", or "High Definition".....
That is the choice that is holding it up.... its the old VHS vs Beetamax war... which one will Sony choose for the PS3.... whichever one they go for, will sort out whichever drive you are liable to have in anything, as with Sony name behind it, whichever they chose will rule....
So when they release the PS3, they realy dont want the old PS1 holding them back.
Good machine, but that was in its time... time to "Retire" the old, I think....
BUT, ALL PS's are "Downwards compatable" with older games, so you loose nothing.......

By "High Definition" do you mean HD-DVD? The PS3 will use blue ray disks simply because it's Sony's product.

Well it's about time they discontinued that PS1 no offense.

I have a PS1, even though I am a Nintendo fan, I don't have a PS2 simply because I don't like them and I won't get a PS3 either but yeah.

The PS3 was supposed to be released already, but the HD-DVD/Blueray issue was cited as one of the reasons for delay, due to HD-DVD being a better product..... or so it was last reported.....?

it comes down to opinon. HD-DVD is going to be cheaper, and more universal. But Blueray has an exponentially larger capacity, and...I cant remember anything else. I think the PS3 should incorperate both. Blueray for games/movies, and HD-DVD for the other movies.

Golf is fun and all, but who wants a golf video game? Not I.

Nintendo tried to make a fun golf game and made mario golf but it was pretty bad, more fun than regular sport games though but still pretty damn bad.

Madden '04 is where it's at.

Na, Madden '06 is better. It's more challenging with the new passing system.

Gex the gecko was the best game ever on ps1. I thought they wew hilarious. But anyway, i would get a ps3, but I would keep my ps2 so I could play all playstation games.

If you can, try "Burnout 4 Revenge"......
Ok, so its a driving game.....
But THIS one allows you, encourages you even, to punt traffic into each other.....
Sure puts a whole new slant on "Road Rage"......

I've heard of that game. I kind of was interested in it because of the fact you just crash a lot of stuff.

The PS1 is old school and can still be a nice thing to have.

SF2 got me hooked on Playstation.
