Its "Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes" and quite frankly that song....compared to other RENT music, is a lot like saying metallicas good song was "Enter Sandman" its the most played one, but not the best....I have both "Seasons of love" and "What you own" as ring tones...Yes RENT is great, I love the musical, love the play, its coming to Minneapolis in August and im going. Family guy fans....The king and I.....Peter "I thought you wanted to do a good play, if you wanted to do a bad play why didnt we just do RENT" OR the 40 year old virgin reference in the bonus features...."You know how I know you're Gay?....You've seen RENT 3 times!" Classic.....so yeah as you can tell I love Broadway, and RENT is my favorite.....oh yeah also.....GO TO THE ARCADE on this site, I need more competition. : )

Because some people like my dad like the music but refuse to like it for the gay refrences and five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes are the mintues in a year and it is a song saying that we should measure our years in how much love we recieve and give. To me that is a meaning to a song worth listening to. And for the record i am far from being classified as a thesbian and i am straight so you definately do not have to be either to like that music :P

You don't have to be a woman, or homosexual, to enjoy broadway shows. (Or movies based on broadway shows) It's called being culturalized. I guess someday you may open your closed mind up to it and you may find out that on the contrary, being culturalized makes you actually have things in common with other people, and thus you can get laid more, as if it was even important.

How come you never saw any Rent fans before the movie came out? I didn't go see the movie, but the original broadway show was pretty cool.

and no matter how much you hate it, you gotta love the song "La Vie Boheme" its become the unofficial theme song of The Abington Heights Drama Club. damn, what a cast party...contortionists, make up, break dancing, Avenue Q.... wow i just realized how completely insane most of the people I hang out with are.

psh, depends on which drama club you're talking about. You have never seen these people. The last preformance we did was a play by woody allen, it was hillarious.

Doris: As long as I am a slave I can never enjoy sex!
Actor: Would you be willing to fake it?

never did i say broadway shows are for gays and females. i stated that rent itself is horrible. in fact it's one of the most overrated broadway shows performed. i myself love death of a salesman, or the odd couple, to name a few. trust me "sgt", i have more culture at my age then you can begin to posses. and even at this age, possessing culture isn't at the top of many girls lists.

and to finish off that rebuttal, i'd like to say anyone who doesn't think having sex is that important, has never had it.

(note in that argument you supplied, i completely ignored the fact that "culturalized" is not a word. look up cultured.)

Nah, the coolest kids at my school aren't in the drama club, they're on the speech team. It's coached by this total liberal/hippie English teacher and everyone in it is pretty much brilliant. Sometimes they put on shows just for our school and even the serious stuff is hilarious.

Murderbydeath - If you never implied broadway shows were for gays or females, then I guess I obviously missed what you meant earlier in the topic. As far as it being overrated? Last time I checked there were lots of negative comments about the play, and even more so about the movie, I remember lots of reviews hating it, and I think it only got around 2 stars or so. No need to put sgt in quotes. Im obviously not a Sgt, it's mainly a nickname, and if you perfer, Raven works fine. I'm definetly not getting into a debate about whos more "cultured," cause I don't really care. It depends what girls you are trying to go for, I hang out with a lot of them that enjoy music/drama/theater etc, so yeah, having some knowledge or basis helps. I also never said having sex wasn't important, at least it wasn't what I meant to imply. I'm saying being cultured, at least with a certain group of females, can possibly get you more action, but as if it really matters, if you're getting enough as it is. (if that makes sense) and finally, me using culturalized instead of cultured cracks me up, I dunno, maybe thinking along the same lines as Pasteurized? Oh well, thanks for the correction, I had just woke up for work shortly before writing that.

i never said all broadway shows are for gays, or women, but rent is one that definitely was meant to appeal to those sects of society.

As far as it being overrated? Last time I checked there were lots of negative comments about the play, and even more so about the movie, I remember lots of reviews hating it, and I think it only got around 2 stars or so.

every play gets bad reviews, (though oddly enough rent received almost 10,000 reviews on imdb, the most popular movie site online, and received a a 7.2 which is an extremely high score for that particular site.) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0294870/) but how many bad plays do you know get made into major motion pictures. only well liked plays like chicago, phantom of the opera, and tarzan.

No need to put sgt in quotes. Im obviously not a Sgt, it's mainly a nickname, and if you perfer, Raven works fine.

i'd prefer a mocking tone with "sgt".

I'm definetly not getting into a debate about whos more "cultured," cause I don't really care.

seeing as how you brought it up.

It depends what girls you are trying to go for, I hang out with a lot of them that enjoy music/drama/theater etc, so yeah, having some knowledge or basis helps. it makes sense till the underlined part. i'd have to say though, the ratio of attractive girls not involved in theatre/music(i'd have to assume classical, opera, etc)/theater to the ones who are, is overwhelmingly unfavorable.

and finally, me using culturalized instead of cultured cracks me up, I dunno, maybe thinking along the same lines as Pasteurized? Oh well, thanks for the correction, I had just woke up for work shortly before writing that.

indeed.
