1. Quests are too simple. Seems like every quest involves me to travel somewhere, find something growing on the ground, or kill stuff. The worst quests are the kill quests. They tell me to go to someplace and kill like 20 spiders for example. Ok great, I go and kill that. Whats worse are the ones that you have to kill just to get a quest item drop and you need like 20 of them. With a 1 in 5 chance of that happening, you'll have to kill 100 spiders just to be done with it!

2. Quest icons! Boy what a major crock this is. Back in the day we actually had to "hail" every NPC to see if they offer a quest. But not anymore, you just follow a gold " ! " symbol. Not only that, but they also give you an idea what the quest reward will be and most of the time the reward sucks! WTH, It kills the feeling of having the quest reward secret till you complete. Kinda gave you a better motivation to complete it just to see what item you'll get. Yes they recently implemented quest icons over the NPC's head in EverQuest 2 as well which I'm pissed about. Before the NPC's actually used a hand motion to get your attention if they had some quest for you.

3. The crafting system is a joke and mostly useless cept for a few things like potions and such. Why craft armor or weapons when better loot drops from NPC's or just buy it at auction house? And crafting is very dumbed down as well, all you need is the resources, press the craft button, wait for the progress bar, and your done! No chance of failure that will destroy some items needed to make the final product. No sub-component crafting either. Ehhhh. Star Wars Galaxies had the best crafting solution IMO. You had to suvey the land for the best quality resources to craft the items. And from your crafts you could use schematics to duplicate the same quality items using factories.

4. Character advancement is way too quick in WoW. Id doesnt really give you that feeling of accomplishment. There be too many n00bie lvl 60 players running around not knowing how to fully play their class in every situation. And the skill rewards are every 2 levels instead of 1. So basically half the time you gain a level, there is really nothing to be reward for it cept for that little 1 sec animation whenever you reach the new level. You're still pretty much the "same-leveled" character till you hit the 2nd new level and gain a new skill.

5. Community. WoW has horrible community. Its full of kids who came over from warcraft 3. Just as an example if you say in wow /ooc about needing help on blah blah quest, the usual responses will be "we don't help noobs", or "why are you doing that quest anyway, duel me instead", or bett yet "I'll help only if you agree that i get all loot."

6. Raiding. You have to run through the same dungeons several hunders of times for a really low % gear drop chance. Lets face it, without the gear you're USELESS IN PVP which is supposedly the only reason to play WoW for endgame. This is where the original EverQuest shined. With the latest expansion there were thousands of of dungeons waiting to be explored and each with its own design and loot. People were encouraged to go around and explore. This is what I'm going to love about Vanguard, with a really really huge land, no instance zones, all to be explored by players!

7. Class ballance. Only a handful of classes in WoW and there is so much crap going. One patch a class will be buffed, the next it will be nerfed to hell because mage/rouge got wtfpwn3d in a duel. Also the fact that a warriors dps is even compared to a rogues should tell the devs somethings wrong. And whats worse, you have to spec your class a certain way depending on what you try to accomplish in the game. You spec your talents one way if you're raiding, and you have to respec to another system if you're to PvP. So there hardly is any class diversity with the cookie-cutter builds.

8. Queue lines and disconections. So you waited 40 min to log into the game. Great. So you play a little for a few min, you get hit with lag, lag lag lag and finally a disconnection. So you try to log in again just to be put on hold for another 40 min in a queue line. WTF, if you're paying monthly fee to play the game, you should be able to just log in and play without WAITING IN LINE. I dont care if the server has 4 or 4 million people, upgrade the hardware so this wont be needed!!!

9. Travel time takes forever. Can take like 10 min to run across the zone provided you dont get jumped or disconnected and have to start over again. This is before you find a grif master mind you..

Play the game with an unbiased approach then please insert 50 cents and, try again.

I did. Was a Druid on the Durotan server. Got to 60 (Then again this game makes it so easy to get to the highest level everyone is) then got extremely bored.

Level isn't everything, there's reputation and, rare drops not to mention the enormous dragon boss umm aydrai something I can't remember. Play FFXI for about a month and make the comparison. FFXI is leaps and bounds harder then WoW.

kay, i can understand WOW and Gunz and Runescape, but halo and MG? WTF? those are two of the best KA games you can get...i'm sorry, you need to reprioritize your thinking. Stop trying to be anti-conformist. There are certain things you have to just accept is going to rule the world they reside in. UGH. I hate people who diss on art.

What?!? Stop trying to be anti conformist??? what the hell are you talking about? because i don't like those video games that means i'm trying to be anti conformist? Halo if the all time biggest suck your life away game, people get so obsessed with it that they buy an xbox for a couple hundred dollars, just so they can play it! I have a friend who used to be so obsessed with Halo that he played it day and night. Realy, what the hell are you talking about ART, its a friggin video game man. Get a life.

I'm easily addicted. I was addicted to runescape back when it was all 2d and crappy looking.

I was addicted to cs 1.6 then DoD 1.6

Now i'm totally addcted to CS:S. I don't know why people hate it. I think it's way better than 1.6...idk.

People tell me not to EVER play WoW cuz i will be so hooked and it will steal my whole life and money...i rilli want to play but track just started and i'd be wasting $15 a month if i didn't play much. This summer maybe...

Conformist=one who goes with the flow
Anti-conformist=one who does not go with the flow
in going against the flow of the halo trennd by stating that you dont like it puts you in the second category
to make you laugh/giggle/chuckle/whateverthehellyouwannacallit is all that post was trying to do.

Since everyone quoted you I felt I should jump on the bandwagon....

Some people say it sucks your life away others say it gives you life. First you get the option to talk to people without any preconcieved notions regarding sex/race/age.

Some would argue that it is a pedo's playground but, the game has things in the interface for security and safe gameplay..beta's don't all the time.

People are different if you like to drive your car and pay insurance while working at a job then go for it. If you want to!

And if you like sitting at home learning user interface on a pc (aka online games) while working at a job, then go for it, If you want to!!

There are hobbyists, there are lobbyists, there are journeymen, there are apprentices, there are readers and there are speakers, there are doer's and there are don't'ers.. these choices is what makes your life what you want and does it really suck your life away? Like a cigarette?

Lastly, people that don't have the courage to hold onto their own dream find ways to discourage others.

Caught in the crossfire.

I'm having a huge debate in another forum on another site, kind of poured over into this one. Eh don't worry about it.
