this is so great it deserved it's own spot.
this is a british ad for the simpsons done in <i>real life</i>. it's <i>very</i> well done, i must say ..

Ryu-Nacho 03-04-2006, 09:50 AM In Spore, you start off as a cell, eating other small random objects, and fleeing larger, meaner ones. Over time, you control your evolution into bigger and bigger things, eventually taking to land or sea. You have complete control over how you evolve, and what you look like when you evolve. It goes like this for a short while.
Eventually, you begin forming a tribal community with one of your evolved critters. This tribe will grow and advance depedning on how you interact with them, and turn into a city. It could a fun loving city of peace, or an industrial military capital. You can create buildings *fully customizable, like your monsters*, and grow your city. You will soon enough be able to create vehicles; these can be anything from simple cars to tanks and helicopters. Once you've reached this point, it becomes easy to explore the world you're on.
But it goes further than that; not only can you conquer your planet through diplomacy and war, but, when you get the UFO, the Solar System. You can then colonize other planets, or abduct foreign/alien races for your own purposes. Keep going through the game, and you eventually have an entire universe at your disposal. And everything is randomized as the game plays, as well as using an auto-synchronous system to create your universe. This means that other people playing Spore are constantly transferring data back and forth to help each other create balanced Eco-systems, planets, and creatures in each other's universes.
Oh yes...this game will be badass.

It looks like it will not take that long to do each stage, though I may be wrong. Does anyone know if it is currently available? And if not, WHEN!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Only on the server, not on your home computer. All the info is being held by the server.

XrPLeon 03-10-2006, 03:31 PM Okay, First off, Spore is going to be a one-time pay in the aspects that it's going to be mainly a single player game (Read that somewhere in the newsletter) I read somewhere (forgot where) that you can host multiplayer games via land or interweb. If you die, I think you go back to the beginning of whichever phase you were in (not sure though, just makes sense.) It wont take long to get to the water/land stage where you command one being, but I'm not sure after that. It's slated for release in fall 2006. And I dont know much more than that, But yes, you download other peoples' worlds and creatures, etc.

I agree. That does make sense. I asked some of my real world friends, who also saw the movie, and they think that that's what will happen. So, you're probably right.
