My mate can make web sites in flash and he rubs it in so its pay back time.
Can anyone help me by:
Telling me the basics
What you need eg.Dreamweaver
If i will be able to do one

Dreamweaver (and IMO, most WYSIWYG html editors) make some of the ugliest code I have ever seen. If you want something that "just works", then go for it. If you want to do it right, take the time to learn html and make your pages with a standard text editor.

Yes, I understand that it is hard to understand what people are talking about when you dont have a clue.

Creating a website is easy with programs such has Microsoft Frontpage (free from microsoft), and Dreamweaver (a whole lot of money). Freewebz Corps. (http://www.freewebs.com) offers a free way to create a website, and its so easy a 3 year old can do it.

By the way, you dont really HAVE to learn HTML (html is a code that generates webpages), all you have to do is see if your computer has Microsoft Frontpage on it (for windows only), and make the page in the text editor, then just copy-paste the code it generates into a HTML editor on the internet (you can do that with Freewebz Advanced Account).

you dont need to know HTML. i know it now, but ive made excellent pages simply using the graphical format in dreamweaver.

Ye im getting dreamweaver because it makes your web pages more realistic.
Plus you can put your games you made on it and cartoons.

But...I dont know how to use it.
we have it at school and i just sit there looking at the screen when i click on it.

Yeah, if you're trying to make a site in flash, then you need a flash program, like Macromedia Flash MX/MX 2004, Flash 8, Toonboom Studio, or any other such program. But also, either learning HTML or using a program like Dreamweaver would allow you to produce the code needed to display the flash site on the web.

i make flash sites all the time. they take a long time to make though.

I've made one before. I like making Flash sites more than HTML sites, because you can do more with them. But, like you mentioned, they do take a while.
