I got me a dandy 1 cup coffee maker. It uses those little coffee-in-it's-own-filter thingys. I recomend one for anyone who likes coffee and doesn't want to make a big pot. Hopefully I won't end up smashing it to bits like I did the floor cleaner.

I bought one of those floor cleaners that squirts water on the floor and then sucks it up. Being the lazy person I am I'm always looking for the fastest, easiest way to do a task. So I dumped a pail of water on the kitchen floor, swished it around with the mop head and started sucking it up. I didn't realize the catch cup for the dirty water only had a 1 cup capacity. All of a sudden water starts shooting out both sides. WTF. So I empty the cup and start over.
Within 30 seconds, water starts shooting out both sides. WTF. Enough was enough so I take the damn thing outside and smash it to pieces on the sidewalk all the while yelling "You dirty mother@#$*$#@, you son-of-a-$*&@$, You filthy #&%~$." Unbeknownst to me, my neighbors were standing there laughing.

Does anyone have any small appliance horror stories?

Did you leave the wrapper on? Were you trying to warm it or melt it?

What were you heating? Beans? They blow up real good.

Did you guys hear about those kids who gave their dog a bath and wanted to dry him quickly so they put him in the microwave? This really happened. Try to visualize that mess.:mf_microw

I left the wrapper on because it was metallic, I knew that it would cause sparks. And I did't want to eat it, I just wanted to look at the sparks.

ive heard that if you put a crumpled up bit if tin foal in a micro wave you can see the electisity jumping from one fold to the next.
Also if you put a CD in the microwave, you can watch the electricty dace accross the shiny side of the disk
since i dont have a microwave i cant test this intresting phonomanon (if not also dangerous one)

It will ruin the microwave. Then once it's ruined you can put lots of tin foil it it.

I think it was something like beans, but after it exploded the food didn't seem to look quite clear anymore. As for the dog in the microwave mess....well that's going to be eww....

Did someone actually put their dog in a microwave? Those people would have to be completely mentally incompotent to do that!

What? It didn't overflow? You didn't have to put on a rubber glove and stick your hand down there and squish up a turd?

Ew gross.

For my kitchen story umm i was making cheese on toast and i went and sat down to go and eat it. I didnt realise that i left the grill on....
I was in the lounge room and all these little black things were floating around.
I didnt know what it was so i just ignored it. Eventually there was more so i went to look around at what it was. Went into the kitchen and there was ash and fire and smoke coming out of the grill. I was about 9 at the time and i havent made cheese on toast since then. I was at home because my sister went to her friends place and i freaked out opened the door to hopefully get all the ash out of the house before mum or dad got home. What i didnt realise was that it left a huge smoke stain on the roof. Mum came home and looked at it and i got yelled at. It wasnt our house either. It was my grandmas :P so we just painted the roof. No one to this day apart from the people in my family know what happened.

Wow. I hope your parents yelled at your sister too for leaving you alone.
The least she could have done was see to it that you had something to eat before she left.

I ordered some chicken cordon blue from swansons and when the case finally got to my house I ripped open the box and stuck one in the microwave. Four minutes it told me to keep them in there. So four minutes later I go back and the chicken kind of bloaded causing it to roll to the side thus letting the microwave grab some of the plastic wrapper. The microwave tray pulled the plastic wrapper (chicken inside) under the turntable and chewed it up. It took me a few minutes to figure out where my food went. That old microwave really chewed that cordon blue up. It was like a paste.
