I'm starting to put some things together, and need input on what everyone would like to see. As of now, I'm leaning towards setting it up like most professional sports, where there is a 'season' where everyone plays everyone else, and then the top players advance to 'playoffs'. I need ideas on what information should be included on the page. So far I am planning on showing the results of the last 5 games, and a table of everyone's won/loss record.

Or are you making a totally seperate site? As for information I think you have the basics needed for this. Archives of past games and a system for posting game results is all I can think of.

not doing a separate site. just creating another page that will integrate with the board. I would post the link but its secured to admins only at this point. I'm still very early in the construction process and I prefer not to have a bunch of people crawling all over when I know things will be broken and not working correctly.

Archives should be fairly simple to implement. Posting game results will be secured to prevent people from posting bogus games.

Schedules would be nice as well.
And you should put rooms and server names on them also.

maybe create a new yahoo room for gprime pool contestants only? i think you can do that... but Im not quite sure.

We could do that. I've been a little distracted lately and haven't had a chance to work on the page anymore. I may work on it some later tonight or tomorrow though.

The user interface is half done, and I'll admit to being at a point where the tournament could go on. There are a few other things on the user side that I want to get done, as well as build an admin interface so I dont have to do all the sql/database stuff by hand. It should all be pretty easy, its just a case of me being distracted by SRO and not putting any time into finishing the project.

Its not really abandoned, I've just gotten addicted to a game and spend most of my free time playing it. That and I got stuck on something and haven't taken the time to look up what I'm doing wrong.

On the other hand, poking around just now looking for a solution, I found a mod that someone else has already done that might work for this. I dont have access to the webserver to install it from work, but I'll try to get it thrown up tonight when I get home. We'll see what its like, and if it works we can get this going.

I am just going to play pool on my own, a tournament isn't needed.
