^Well, the 16-star finish thing is really old.

But that run was AMAZING! I didn't see ANY mistakes whatsoever. He pulled off some difficult and risky manuevers as well. Most impressive (not to mention fastest) 16-star run to date. Nice!

obviously he's a very experienced player. but that wasnt in 16:27. IT would nearly be impossible to do that ENTIRE clip without errors. Still amazing, He knows all the glitches and physics errors, etc. but my gues it that it took him 2 hours or so. he edited the bloopers out is my guess.

or he just did it several times till he got it right like that super mario 3 vid.

thats exactly what I'm saying, though instead of starting all over again, he just edited out the bloopers.

that super mario 3 video is a cheat. the time stops or goes slowly in some spots. if u watch it, u will notice that.

The run was tool-assisted, so I take back all the positive comments I made about it...That guy used save states to go back in time to correct mistakes he made. I thought it was a little fishy how perfect and fast his cannon aiming was...

You guys should see the REAL speed runs, done by the REAL pros... check out speeddemosarchive.com (http://www.speeddemosarchive.com).

Tons of speed run vids there. Great site. (not a great deal of new vids, tho.)

Yes, but when the player shot for the star at the "Thwomp" area, he missed, yet caught his balance and gained the star.

Actually.....there are two Super Mario 3 vids......the japanese one, which is comprised of over 42,000 save states...(if you dont believe me, download the video, download the editor/emulator, and view the save state count.) There is also one done for real, with no save states, which is a little slower, and he doesn't go for the actual 99 lives. (at least i dont think he does, its been a while since ive watched it.) The reason why it seems as though time goes slow is because of the "power" the NES had and having to load so many images because of how fast he was going, it lagged out the system. As far as the N64 video, there are also some out there that are one straight run, no fakes, no save states used, you just have to find them. I myself have beaten the game with 16 stars several times, and it's really easy once you know how to do it. The only 2 tough spots is getting the rabbit through the door, and getting the stairs trick to work on the first set of stairs. If anyone needs to know how to do it just ask and I can give pointers. Same with almost every fast video out there of gaming, most of them i've either done or know how to do, as I was once into that kind of stuff.

Mostly because they have more games and those games are better, I mean I've seen DS tournaments before.

That's like saying that because I have tried Apple Juice and Orange Juice, Apple juice is better (Which it is, but that's not my point, it's only my opinion).

I don't care if it is old or new. That game brings back some serious memories. All the companies trying to take out the glitches in Video games take away from the fun of the games. You need those little glitches to keep you playing.

Freaking awesome.
