I just downloaded Windows XP 64-bit edition. It seems decent so far (As far as Microsoft products go) Anyone else with a 64-bit processor try it yet?

I'm still on a 32-bit processor, but I have a friend that has a 64-bit. He installed xp64 and said that it seems to run faster and better. He's come across a few applications that refuse to run under 64-bit, but he's never mentioned any games that dont run. xp64 is backwards compatible so there really isn't a reason why something wouldn't run.

i personally would think its a waste of money to BUY it. I mean, how many programs run on it? 20? well those 64bit games you were talking about sound cool... i would personally wait until more things come out in 64 bit. perhaps i could dual boot longhorn once i find a download for it.

Anything that runs on regular XP will run on the 64-bit version unless they are specifically programmed not to.

i remember an article that said only a SELECT FEW of 32 Bit programs will run on it.

Go somewhere else. This isn't an illegal download. ;)
On Microsoft's website they let you have a 4 month trial....
Darn, there isn't any fun then. When it comes availible to buy, I will obtain it and upload it to some site (probably rapidshare) for anyone who wants it.

Well, that's my view of things.

Well I'd suggest dual booting them, because I've run into a few things that don't work correctly on 64-bit. The performance increase is amazing though, for progams that support 64-bit.

dual booting Windows XP and Windows XP?Strange, but OK.
