i have photoshop cs2 or something and it is different

I made some stencils using text before. It had nothing to do with that link, and was really simple. You just take your text, make a new layer above it, use the spraypaint function(using the same color of the text, color burn, 100% opacity, 50% flow. Play around with the settings yourself), spraypaint over it, select the area of the text, delete that area in the paint layer, and stencil out your text.

This is a bad example, by the way, but an example indeed.

7.0 works fine. If you're short on cash(and weird enough to buy it) then 7.0 is the way to go.

edit; and it's easier to make a stencil out of a face using threshold. Also; this is a really easy effect that, quite frankley, isn't attractive.

probably. You'd need to experiment with it yourself. I don't use fireworks, because macromedia is only good for animation, and animation alone. get yourself a copy of photoshop.

Also, I buy most of my stuff. The computer was an exception. So stop being jealous that my parents "spoil" me, while you think they just bought it for me, I actually designed and USED this computer to make enough money to buy it back. I had to work for my dad's friend modeling houses in maya, that she designed. Also I made an intro video for my camps info and other videos. Its not just something I use to play games on, SO SHUT THE FU.CK UP ABOUT IT. IT IS PISSING ME THE FU.CK OFF!
