Brand new, (http://www.apple.com/ca/ipod/ipod.html) ships next week. Finally, an iPod that can play videos.

15,000 songs
25,000 pictures

or 150 hours of video.

There are some asterisks, see the site.

the screen is so small on that
i'd rather play video on a PocketPC with 4x the resolution
but i'm sure everyone who just bought a nano will also buy that....until the video nano comes out

if anything, this will make it easier for me to find cheap ipods on ebay :)

The PSP costs as much as an iPod, then you have to buy the memory stick. The PSP has to be taken out of your pocket, turned on and then you wait for it to boot up. Compared to an iPod, it isn't as portable.

I'm comparing this to my Shuffle.

iPods are very much destructible. the screens crack easily and they do not resist water well at all - these are things that are conveniently NOT covered in Apple's manufacturer warantee

Umm iPods wil be soon virtually indestructible. Recently scientists put to use self-healing plastic. If you were to drop your iPod and it cracks, withint 48 hours it would be brand new again.Ya it's really cool, and should be in production soon, (within a year i think they said)

It's like an Ipod...that isn't even an Ipod, which that actually sounds contradicting...but it doesn't even deserve to have the word "Ipod" in it...I mean that's like a 99 cent version of an Ipod that can be duplicated easily and sold off in Chinatown for an ultra cheap price.

I hate all things i except for my iPAQ. I have a KOSS mp3 and it suits my needs perfectly. If I thought I was going to need 60GB for music, I would get an iPOD, but noone really does, so I don't.

ipod is cool, and i think that this new is alright. i like how they upgraded the battery life. the 12hours you had before was BS. this is why i have the poor mans ipod ( cd/mp3 player) 50 hours of battery life pure genius, plus wicked eqs.

People buy iPods for the cool factor.I mean,the iPod is now what the Walkman was 25 years ago.Also,people know you have money and style when you have a iPod (even a shuffle.) your'e a wannabe if you have a cheap $50 MP3 player (unless you have one of those old Joybee players,Theyr'e about the size of a silver dollar.).Like it or not,the iPod is a symbol of the new generation.

iPod Nano is really cool though, it's for the common person, but I'm not common

iRiver's are nice and all, but they can't play video's, so I ditched my iRiver, got myself an iPod, and won't turn back ever!!!!!

i beg to differ. my old iriver (H300 model) could play videos way before the ipod video could. a few years at that. although the file format was waaaaaaaaaay pickier than ipod video's.
