Whenever I try to open an attachment, be it a video, swf, or other file, I get a download window asking me to save the file 'attachment.php'. Im using Windows XP Home and my browser is Maxthon.

Its working fine for me with firefox 1.0.7 on both win32 and linux. I dont even know where to start fixing a problem that I can't see.

Just tried IE 6 on WinXP and it is working as expected. My guess is that your systems are not honoring a mime-type header being sent by the web server.

Edit: I can also verify that it works with Konqueror 3.4.2 on Linux

Another Edit: Opera 8.5 on Linux checks out fine

All you have to do too download the video properly is change the name from attachment.php, too "namehere".wmv, "namehere".avi when you are saving it too you computer. After doing that it'll change the format of it and you should be able to play it.

Nup, that still doesn't work for me.
Anyway, I can download it with Netscape 8.0 with no probs.

I have norton and adaware. I think my dad just did some "updates" that do this stuff. I have the fastest computer in the house and he tells me "Your computer's running like crap."

whoohoo, I used to have a large forum(10,000 mem, 80admin/mod...) , and the server's php system went down (sigh ... D0s attack...) and sure enough when you navigate to a php file (ie config.php where the database name/pw is kept) it would ... simply download the document, open it in text, and sure enough, php visable to the world!
Good thing that's not the case.
Scarey when I came home from work that day...
