Pros: A+
Cons: If I stepped on it, it would break.

I wish thoose X-Box pawns would grow up a little though. Japan hates them yet they still push their crappy system on them.

It's far from crappy, but it entails little innovaiton.

Little innovation??? It's VR for crying out loud! It doesn't get a whole lot more innovative than that...

I would also like to mention that Nintendo has plans for a wavebird-style controller that can be used to port XBox and PS3 games. Nintendo made a quick >>Mock-up (http://media.cube.ign.com/articles/651/651559/img_3077147.html)<< of it to display the idea, though that's probably not what the final model will look like.

I think the idea is great, but the remote-control look didn't hit it off too well. I think the "wavebird" expansion will be popular because it's familiar, but still innovative because the motion sensor is still active, and can still be used to aim or navigate menus even though it's connected to to the wavebird.

To tell you the truth, I think they should have dropped the whole "remote control" deal and just made a normal controller with a motion sensor on the top. Somehow I doubt many people will go for the awkwardness of the remote control or "nunchuck" expansion...

Allow me to post some better pics, and a nice, long video explaining and demonstrating the controller, for those who don't like to read:

IGN Revolution controller gallery (http://media.cube.ign.com/articles/651/651275/imgs_1.html)

For the video:
Click here (http://media.cube.ign.com/articles/651/651383/vids_1.html), then click "Watch it Now" to stream.

Note: The video is huge; about 150 mb, so streaming it is highly reccommended over downloading (downloading wastes a lot of time and hard drive space).

that would be funny if it was in the other hand because thats how that would work

oh and in my opinion the controller seems to much like a novelty and that it should be like one of those things they have in malls every so often and make u pay like 10 bucks to try it

I think it could either be Nintendo's break through or salvation.

What do you want to bet microsoft will release one and say they came up with the idea? *cough JVM -> .NET cough* *cough GUI from xerox cough*

Well, like I said, the Rev controller will double as a normal-style controller with this convenient attatchment:
http://atax.ign.com/image-ng/size=1x1&name=ATAtracker&a=&r=none&network=ign&pagetype=mediaimgthin&page_type=mediaimgthin&site=cube&article_id=651559&channel_id=74&network_id=12&network=ign&t=mediaimgthin&c=74&subdomain=media.cube.ign.com&dechannel=igncube?1127001104646
(Note that the pic is just a mock-up, for concept's sake, and the real one is likely to look different)

Even with the attachment, it's still different from other controllers because it's still sentitive to tilt and aim. I think that would be awesome for navigating menus and aiming in FPS's (I just only hope that Smash Bros 3 doesn't let the controller tilt act the same as the C-stick did in Smash melee. God, that was ANNOYING). But the attachment still makes it likely that this console will appeal to fans of the average controller as well.

And personally, I think that attachment will take over and run the nunchuck attachment outta buisiness. Besides, I hear it takes two hands to get total control of the beam anyway.

Looks interesting.
I think it could be quite innovating.
The Revolution will still use the Gamecube controller so it shouldn't totally scare away developers.

The whole point of the controler is the fact that this is a REVOLUTION. It's supposed to be out of the box. Who knows, it may even have better gameplay.
