How many people would want me to vanish forever?
They're two extremes. I don't really care either way.

For me to answer I need you to answer the following questions:

What is better, a 90nm processor or a 100nm processor?

What is the original creator of linux's first name? NO GOOGLING!

Mac OS X is based off of what operating system?

What command in linux lets you run ONE file as root?

What is the fastest growing indie linux distro, and also my distro of choice?

What is apt-get?

What do you call a linux that runs directly from a CD with no need to change anything on your hard drive?

What operating system is the person from the second question using to help develop linux?

XBox 360 with harddrive package will cost how much?

What does the p in 1080p (I'll give you a hint it refers to high definition televisions) stand for?

What system is the only system to support 1080p?

What next gen system will retail for the least?

What next gen system will support linux on its harddrive?

Good luck.

Sadly enough, you probably couldnt CORRECTLY anserw several of thoose questions yourself. So why ask them as a insult?

I will attempt to answer as many of those questions as I can without googling at all.

What is better, a 90nm processor or a 100nm processor?

A processor with 90nm would have smaller transistors and would allow more transistors to be placed on a chip of the same size as a 100nm processor. The new sparc processors are using this technology.

What is the original creator of linux's first name? NO GOOGLING!

Linux would be named after Linus Torvald, who you might be interested to know was born the same year that unix was invented (1969).

Mac OS X is based off of what operating system?

Mac OSX is based off of Darwin which is based off of BSD. (see www.freebsd.org)

What command in linux lets you run ONE file as root?

Ah, yes, there are actually two possible commands, one that come with linux (this also applied to BSD) and one that doesn't. The one that generally comes with is "su" and the one that generally has to be installed is "sudo".

What is the fastest growing indie linux distro, and also my distro of choice?

Well, I'm not sure if it's necessarily the fastest growing as Gentoo is really taking off, and there are also a couple others that are doing quite well, but I'm pretty sure you're referring to Debian (or maybe Ubuntu) seeing as you mention the apt-get utility in the next question.

What is apt-get?

apt-get would be part of the Debian (and Ubuntu) package management system. It will automatically fetch and install programs that you specify. It is similar to gentoo's portage system but different in the sense that it uses precompiled binaries instead of source (ewwww, dirty precompiled binaries ;)).

What do you call a linux that runs directly from a CD with no need to change anything on your hard drive?

This term doesn't necessarily apply only to linux, and it refers to a "livecd".

What operating system is the person from the second question using to help develop linux?

He was originally using minix and I believe he may still be using it

XBox 360 with harddrive package will cost how much?

I could care less, I am anti-microsoft.

What does the p in 1080p (I'll give you a hint it refers to high definition televisions) stand for?

The p stands for progressive, is opposed to interlace. Interlace draws the odd fields and then the even fields (or vice-versa) while progressive draws each line progressively (as the name would suggest) making for a smoother image.

What system is the only system to support 1080p?

It would have been nice if you'd elaborated on the word "system", it's a bit broad and I really could care less as I find that display has little to do with a computer's actual workings. I'm quite happy with my old CRT monitors, though I wouldn't mind a flatscreen if I had some extra cash.

What next gen system will retail for the least?

I don't keep track of prices on "next gen" stuff since they are simply quoted prices and generally cost more or even less when they are actually released. Don't rely on quoted figures.

What next gen system will support linux on its harddrive?

The way you're worded that, hopefully any system will support linux on it's harddrive. Are you suggesting that the evil microsofters might start making deals to have harddrives made that refuse to run linux? Do you know something we don't?

What I meant as what gaming system's harddrive will come with linux pre-installed....which is the Playstation 3. Sony's extra little stab at M$

i dont think you could put linux simply enough for most people here (reffering to age). linux is doesnt have as much goop. if you use a mac you'd probably be more familiar with it than if you use ms windows. i use a mac, but i still dont even bother with line commands and prompts and shells and all that other fun stuff.

Yes I know this is a second post in a row, so shoot me.

Linux is one of the most stable operating systems, and also has one of the largest software sets, most of which is available for free. Everything about it is customizable, to most extremes. Here are some examples of highly customized linux:

Well, yeah, I'm nearing 400 posts rapidly, but there are some places where people have 10,000+ posts, which is just ridiculous.

Oh, and no worries bald muffin! I know who you is!

I find it really annoying when people first learn about something, and then that's all they can talk about.

So guys... Assembly.. yeah.. if you don't know assembly I'm going to think you're lame. In 8086 how many types of interrupts are there, and how are they used? Don't know? That means I don't like you! Explain how a stack works. You don't know that either? I hate you!

I'm usually a nice guy... but come on. You know how to use linux, and you like to follow up on technology. Good for you, but I don't think you're impressing anyone.
