Windows Vista. And it'll suck just about as bad as the rest of them.

i tired using a longhorn skin, and it was just a sh-itload of eye candy.. as for the new ie browser, it's supposed to have tabbed windows. and maybe more effects that firefox, opera, and avant have had for a while.

i talked to some of the other guys in my computer department that have tried the beta of windows vista
they said it was way above their expectations and a huge change from the last longhorn build. i'll try it for myself here before long
they also said that IE7 was below expectations

It is a big improvement from the last LEAKED Alpha, but the last Alpha release period, had more features than the current beta, but they weren't stable, and they are to appear in Beta 2 (minus Monad, which was supposed to be the command prompt replacement (with scripting support) but the decided to scrap it....like most other of the new features). Vista Beta 1 currently uses 500MB of RAM idle on the desktop. Ouch.

If you want to see what it looks like see my post on taultunleashed (link follows)

If you want the IE7 beta 1 (for windows XP) you can download it here (http://72.9.240.23/~foulplay/wb-ie7b1.zip) .

It looks to be alot nicer, but then again I use windows xp pro, and i have it all set up to win 2000 looks and effects. Its so hard to accept change. I hate the bubbly kiddie look of xp. I use a laptop, and setting everything to old school frees up quite a bit of my proc. and ram. Im sure ill do the same with the next vers. as well.

To me the only mentionable change is Avalon (the GUI rendering procedure)...other than that it is really like XP with service pack 2. Not worth the upgrade in my oppinion, I've been thinking about getting Windows 2000 instead of XP, just to save my system a few resources.
