Watch all of their performances here (http://music.aol.com/artist/main.adp?tab=songvid&artistid=76669&albumid=0) God 08-03-2005, 10:47 PM Pink Floyd looked older than I expected. But none the less, it was dandy to see them. VooDoo 08-03-2005, 10:52 PM I travelled to Edinburgh for the g8 meeting to protest i have the pictures of me on my digital cam i'll post the pics tomorrow. Firedove 08-04-2005, 12:37 AM Sounds great. I'm not one for concerts though...unfortunately. VooDoo 08-04-2005, 08:36 AM This is where i was at the protest beside Gleneagles in Edinburgh you know the G8 summit in Edinburgh, i took a little time out and went to the mass protest and got blind drunk. http://abs.gprime.net/Pic1.JPG http://abs.gprime.net/Pic2.JPG http://abs.gprime.net/Pic3.JPG Led_Zeppelin 08-04-2005, 04:19 PM Protests are retarded. (Picket protests). Angry feminists/their boyfriends with signs, LOOK OUT! murderbydeath 08-04-2005, 04:26 PM I'm against picketing, i just dont know how to show it. Mouse 08-04-2005, 05:47 PM Personally I feel that Live8 was a good idea, but it just won't do anything. I don't really want to rant about it, but if you want me to, okay. foulplay 08-04-2005, 06:07 PM I'm against picketing, i just dont know how to show it. Haha, George Carlin rules. VooDoo 08-04-2005, 06:21 PM Protests are retarded. (Picket protests). Angry feminists/their boyfriends with signs, LOOK OUT! Well they were asking for a million people to show up at Edinburgh or Gleneagles in Edinburgh so i got in a train with my weed, smokes and vodka and went. Led_Zeppelin 08-04-2005, 06:27 PM Well they were asking for a million people to show up at Edinburgh or Gleneagles in Edinburgh so i got in a train with my weed, smokes and vodka and went. You still went to a picket. VooDoo 08-04-2005, 08:19 PM You still went to a picket. Whats your point, that protest was unlike other protests that protest got through to the G9 cause we got we wanted for a change how many protests have you been to that changed the face of the world forever. nickychris3 08-06-2005, 12:07 AM I didn't watch Live8. I know it sounds strange to say I missed it but... guess_who_i_am 08-06-2005, 01:33 AM Did anyone here go to Live8? I went to the concert in Philidelphia. It was pretty flippen cool.  i watched it on tv murderbydeath 08-06-2005, 02:04 AM Haha, George Carlin rules. he's indeed funny, but it was the late mitch hedburg that said this. Whats your point, that protest was unlike other protests that protest got through to the G9 cause we got we wanted for a change how many protests have you been to that changed the face of the world forever. What do you feel so victorious about? Do you actually think that Africa had been saved by David Bowie's gracious decision to appear onstage alongside Status Quo? Live Aid had the best motives. But to pretend this emotional, ad hoc response to the complex and chronic problem of famine in Africa makes a positive difference is naive, rooted in a fictional idea that rock changes the world. Sure the money in 1985 helped, but Africa has only gotten worse. But i'm sure it made you feel better to stand in the rain, buzzed or blazed, and pretend you are making a difference. P.S. i'm sure glad those pictures were taken from a distance. jet 08-06-2005, 02:33 AM that would have been fun... i watched in on t.v but it only showed a couple of hours. my friend has foxtel and he taped all 11 hours! :hippi: Charles rules you all! 08-06-2005, 02:40 AM plz make your sig small...^^^ plz Jack92 08-06-2005, 08:28 AM www.live8live.com i watched it all and taped all of it. the who were really good. No talking about status quo and david bowie's and old thing i'm thinking more of bob geldoff being asked to join the table at the G8 to become the G9 which has never happened before, what i mean by that is rockstars sitting with world leaders and having his opinion taking seriously. Plus i do belive rock has changed the world cause Tony Blair is a huge Rolling Stones fan and listens to some of there opinions from bono ,geldoof,Jagger and the likes. Plus they gave Africa 40 billion pounds i think, to pay off there 120 billion debt it might not have got paid in full but there paying attention. Which would make that the most successful Protest and charity gig ever done 10 times over no charity has had that much money given to them, so i believe yes standing in the rain with many more people like myself did change the world now all we have to do is get the 120 billion paid off. murderbydeath 08-06-2005, 11:43 AM No talking about status quo and david bowie's and old thing i'm thinking more of bob geldoff being asked to join the table at the G8 to become the G9 which has never happened before, what i mean by that is rockstars sitting with world leaders and having his opinion taking seriously. Although you have some valid points in there, i'm going to have to pick at the stupidity. For one thing, i'd appreciate the use of spell check or coherence. tony blair listens to the Rolling Stones?? that's awesome. and he listens to bono's opinions....hmmm, you mean ones like this "I don't know why, but we always had this belief that there was something sacred about our music, that it was almost holy." reference; http://www.motherjones.com/arts/books/1989/05/bono.html Or even someone who has so graciously labeled Blair/Brown the 'Lennon and McCartney of poverty reduction". upon saying this many NGO leaders were embarrassed. Oh but they donated soooo much money. well since i have limited amount of charachters, you should sit down and enjoy some light reading. http://www.newstatesman.com/200506270006 i rest my case, live8 is something that celebrities like bono can go to and feel good about themselves. next up, attacking that self indulgent christopher reeves, who found a sudden interests in donating all his money to paralysis, but not until it effected him. And you say i need a spell check jeez how many paragraphs and spelling mistakes is in that post !!!. murderbydeath 08-06-2005, 12:03 PM And you say i need a spell check jeez how many paragraphs and spelling mistakes is in that post !!!. umm, allright, i've already mentioned i don’t use capitalization, it's hardly a spelling error. forgive me for not capitalizing tony fu-king blair. i used an e instead of an a, and wow three. yet you failed to mention the complete obliteration of your argument. i like my return key, but it's also used to show a new thought. anways, i like this picture better. Jack92 08-07-2005, 05:53 AM did anyone put there names on www.live8live.com ? I put all my familys |
