We just got a ping pong table and its mad!

I was flickin through the channels today and ESPN had a ping pong championship replay. The people in it were like 50 meters behind the table, smashing it so hard at the other dude. WOW!

Ping pong is a great game to play, its my favorite. Its one of the easiest sport to learn and start playing but takes a great deal of work to master it. On tv, players do go far behind the table. Even though you were exaggerating about the 50m statement, the room or court dimensions for a tournament is 7 meters wide (23ft) and 14 meters long (46ft). Players do sometimes go over the short "fencing" (if you will) of the perimeter so they can go further than approx. 5m towards 6 or 7 but i dont see rallies lasting much longing after they hop the "barricade". Speed in the game is important, but its the "slower action" of the game which is more skill-based, in a tournament of course. The spins these guys can pull off are amazing, and being able to return it is equally impressive. Thats why they always say the serve is probably the most important skill of the game, ability to have good serves and the ability to return it. Anways, have fun playing ping pong.

Ping Pong is great. It's one of those sports you can play where you don't have to be that athletic to be decent at. On family get-togethers ping pong is always at the top of our list to play.

I have a friend from China and there he started playing around age 5. He can put curveball like spins on it and knows exactly how had and far he has to hit it to get it over the net. It's real cool.
